Travis Steele is killing it at Miami.
Had a tough go at Xavier… I think he’s without a doubt an upgrade over Wes and perhaps he’s learned a thing or two about winning at a big level.
I think he’s proven he can coach by going down to Oxford, OH, of all places. You dont win there unless you have X and O chops. I think he’d jump at the chance to prove himself once and for all crosstown in the Big 12.
Edit: by all acounts as an assistant at XU he recruited very well to the city of Cincinnati for the X-Men

Contract year for Hurley. I don’t think it’s a great sign for him that he doesn’t have a new deal yet.
I think Tang gets next season too because that buyout is outrageous.

For sure man. I’m biased and look at things thru a glass half full lens by my ISU nature.
But ppl would have said the same thing about TJ Otzelberger at UNLV when we brought him in. Like that move, this move would be all about fit, day 1 connections, mutual desperation and gratitude.
That’s my angle here. Obviously there would be critics, but I think he’s the best fit and deserves another chance. He has good pedigree and experience. Sometimes negative experience is better than positive too. We’ve hired risers that did nothing but win and crumbled under the pressure of the bigger job in the best league. Steele has been thru the fire and lost it all. He has nowhere to go but up lol
I think it’s the right move, and I’d applaud it. Plenty of good coaches out there tho, obviously.

You need a mentally tough coach, who gets Ws. And Steele had a Wes Miller type resume at Xavier. Good coach, couldn’t win the big games

no doubt about that. Identical really lol. It probably wont happen based on that alone. I have no idea if the administration has the onions either to pull the trigger on that. There would be minimum intense heat. Maybe even open revolt lol.
But whatever they’ve been doing in Cincy certainly hasnt really been working. I think i saw a stat that Satterfield hasnt won a single game in November in his time there. Haven’t verified that, but it sounds true and…wow.

I like this. I’d sign off on that. There’s regional continuity there too.
Especially because that’s a tough road. The MVC has a little more parity at the top this year. Its our other little conference here in Iowa.
Belmont, Illinois State, Bradley, then UNI and to a lesser but legitimate extent Drake… will all feel good about their chances to win that auto-bid in Arch Madness.

Why are tickets for Kansas State game going through the roof? Higher pricing than Arizona’s game… doesn’t make sense

appearently there’s something 1 piece related going on with that game but if kansas state tickets are soaring that much the arizona games are gonna be going for a thousand
