Otz/players have been terrible at identifying proper situations to double. This team has already featured excessive doubles, help, and sagging. Once and if this team plays man and focuses on switches and rotiations they will be fine. But thats a big if.

Jefferson is not a effing PG. The more he dribbles the more problematic it is for him and the team. Everyone is waiting for him to over dribble and are picking his pocketds. TO numbers speak for themsleves.

Otz needs to preach more offensive movement. Too much ISO ball which has led to bad shots, particularlu bad 3s, and some of those have been turned into transition opps.
The most frustrating part? Its been going on every game for a month and Ive seen little in the way of adjustments. I love Otz, but feel like hes sucks at identifying anythint beyond generic issues (intensity, blocking out, etc). Our defense and Jefferson have been the biggest of these issues (Jefferson 5 to 6 TOs a game and could easily have 8-10 in some of our recent games). Toure struggling and becoming hesitatnt and Heiseās PT are also issues.
This ass whipping will be the first of a few if the team doesnt make some.fundamental changes. Its not just a ābad gameā.

But I THINK weāre gonna come back out and make this a game. At least somewhat of a game. And weāll go from there. Thatās all we can do.
Itās not gonna matter, that ship has sailed. But, thatās what I honestly think is gonna happen. In the last 3 minutes we almost kinda got our feet under usā¦ok maybe just a toe or two.
But weāre gonna do what we do and weāll get this L in the ballpark. Nobodyās gonna quit. But, itās a wrap on this one.

ISU hasnt played well since Purdue and virtually EVERY single one of our issues duing that time is being exploited tonight. Jefferson overdribbling and turning it over? Check. Bad doubles/help D leaving players wide open? Check. Scrambling defense (because of said help/doubles/sagging) leading to lanes/foul trouble? Check. Lack of offensive movement leading to ISO ball, bad shots, and opponent transition opps? Check.
The bad defense has also played into the offensive woes as Kansas has momentum and the ability to set up their half court defense. We are making things very easy for Kansas.

michigan got spanked at home right before the end of the covid season at it still didnāt matter albeit that illionis team was also a 1 seed iirc
