I mean that in not taking anything away from Boozer hrs been excellent all year. But it would’ve been more objective to ask his dad

I’m not a Jayhawks fan and I’m disappointed in Pederson. He played so little and his team is probably better without him. That’s crazy.

Our guard lines looking really good next year

In the NIL era - you just don’t know until the the ball goes in the air the first game but it looks good!

The bigs - transfers maybe? And the defensive game plan - for the love I hope that changes lol.

@RezClone Im a little disappointed in you.

I am VERY consistent in complaining about the issues that are within the players’/staffs locus of control. Given prestige, program money, and a lack of whale donors, I understand the limitations with recruiting and the program. If you think about it, Im sure youd be the first to admit I dont waste time complaining about things largely outside of our control.

What frustrates me to no end is the persistency in which the aforementioned correctable issues persist, despite severity/length. It doesnt take an Einstein to see Jefferson is more effective, and the offense is more efficient, when he operates out of the post. Yet here we are, mostly through the season, watching him start possessions at the 3 point line. Then you have Pleta/Buchanan coming to the top of the key, get handed the ball, and have dificulty doing anything with it. What are we doing here? At least use them as screeners to help free up others in the offense. We dont set screens and nobody moves without the ball. That criticism is valid.

On the other end our doubles/traps been more problematic than helpful. Theres no recognition or intellgence when deployed which leads to a plethora of easy baskets. As mentioned numerous times, we dont hedge screens at all which makes it comically easy for teams to create mismatches. What is the strategy here? Arizona did us a favor by not exploiting the tendency enough. The effort on the glass and defense was commendable, but you need more than effoet to get through a season.

I can live with things like Kingston Flemings torching our guards, or Krivas kiling us down low. What I cant “live” is seeing Techs guards open from bad doubles, or Jefferson bringing the ball up the floor and turning it over. This team does NOT play smart, and its worsened as the season progresses.

Is wanting/expecting a multimillion dollar coach to make adjustments an unrealistic expectation? I dont think so.

I tend to talk more about problems as something that works doesnt need to be fixed. With that said, I think my criticisms are fair with a few exceptions.

Jefferson is a turnover machine. No doubt about that. He was also 1 for 12 from the field (he made his 1st or 2nd shot lol)

We only scored 5 points on 15 offensive rebounds. That’s almost impossible to pull that off. Shocking. I can list all these problems the same as you, but they had plenty of wide open shots that just came up bricks in all these losses. Not much anyone can do about that, and that’s gotta be mentioned.

I actually come from more of a baseball background and I view shooting much the same way when push comes to shove. You gotta maintain a positive attitude and irrational confidence thru the slumps… even more so when you’re slumping. We’re due, they have shot a good clip overall.

But the numbers do speak for themselves right now. The offense is broken, there’s really no debating that right now, so I’m not gonna try.

Still a chance to finish 12-6 and undefeated in the non-con. Would have taken that in a heartbeat in the preseason, but it’s also entirely fair to say it ended up being just as disappointing as last year once the season really got rolling, if not more so.

At least they are healthy. There’s too much experience on this team not to figure something out. Really, the only one im actually most worried about right now is Toure. He’s the only one that probably doesnt have an offspeed pitch to go to here. I think we’ll figure something out, but we definitely need a good matchup to get to the 2nd weekend now.

I know you’re a true ISU fan at the end of the day, and you should really only stay true to yourself and I respect that. I was mostly just talking to all the non-ISU fans piling on. That’s not really your fault.

You mentioning this specifically is well-taken. Proceed as normal.

Anyways…

Latest Lunardi: BYU’s a 6 seed in Greenville; tonight’s opponent Cincinnati among Next Four Out. Eight Big 12 teams in the projected field.

Dare I take BYU or Cincy here tonight? Guarantee whoever I bet on gets crushed. One of those weeks lol.

I have zero confidence in BYU.
