Cronin with Big 12 resources at UC is a winning formula.
And he’s a learned a lot since leaving UC. And he’s a cincinnati guy through & through.
And Kelvin has said multiple times in the early years that he beat Houston to take on Cincinnati who was the Bell Cow of the year. UC had identity & culture under Mick.

Cronin had UCLA put an undefeated Gonzaga to overtime and was a Suggs 3 from 2OT in the Final 4. Got to the Sweet 16 once at Cincy. 3 Sweet 16’s at UCLA. 4 in the last 13 years is legit. Can’t be that many coaches with more.

Maybe or maybe not, and makes no difference what we think. Fact is he would have had to compete for time and I do believe we were looking for a more versatile big like Cenac. without Tugler it would have depended on the type of big we brought in from the portal.
Reed Sheppard was a 1 and done and drafted # 3 overall and wasn’t a starter for Kentucky.
Not convinced that was a good pick at this point…
Agree, needs to make a considerable jump this year.
Same with Dillingham on that same Kentucky team. Dillingham ended up going 8th
