Hey man, a guy can have dreams lol
I have it under good authority that they are announcing Landon’s return. NCAA ruled that he has not used up his eligibility
Yep it was jojo deciding to come back
But they have a 1-2 star coach. They didn’t fix that.
Iowa State – Good
- 10 on scholarship.
- Solid roster with experience and cohesion.
- Milan Momcilovic needs to make a big leap for them to contend at the highest level.
- You’re not hanging a banner with this group yet, but it’s competitive.
In theory, Milan can make substantial improvements in defense and rebounding. As we saw in the at Houston game he’s capable…when engaged and aware. Same goes for rebounding, an area he will never excel in, but can become a 4-5 rebound a game player.
For being such a perimeter oriented team, Otz really did a terrible job in working more of an inside/outside game to create space and improve shot quality. When the ball went inside, it stayed inside (even if a shot was forced). Other times we’d get away from passing it in after having success. Working on entries, receptions, and emphasizing multiple attempts would help our offense immensely.
That’s freaking hilarious. Too bad it will be lost on many in here.
We need a troll version though, with fishing gear, as that’s what he really is. It always amazes me how many idiots take his bait.
interesting convo
the freshmen class in the conference is STACKED!!!.. who makes the All freshmen team
only 5 selected – the obvious considerations (top 25 recruits):
- A.J. Dybantsa (Byu)
- Darryn Peterson (Kansas)
- Chris Cenac Jr. (Houston)
- Tounde Yessoufou (Baylor)
- Koa Peat (Arizona)
- Brayden Burries (Arizona)
- Isiah Harwell (Houston)
- Kingston Flemings (Houston)
- Shon Abaev (Cincy)
others that could surprise (realistic that they could end up on the list):
-
Dwayne Aristode (Arizona): top 40 recruit
-
Keyshuan Tillery (cincy) top 50 recruit
-
Kayden Edwards (tcu) top 60 recruit - no star on roster, could be him
-
Jamarion Batemon (iowa state)- top 75, - likey best shooter on iowa state (curtis jones replacement?)
-
Bryson Tiller (Kansas) Redshirt - former top 40 recruit, injury early enrolled - could start at the 4 for them…
-
Dominique Diomande (BYU) Redshirt: international early enrollee at Washington, semi-pro star in france …if BYU doesnt land DW, could start at the 4
-
a Colorado Freshmen- every rotation guard on roster last year left. they are bringing in 5 high 3star freshmen and redshirted a 4star last year…with only 1 transfer (so far) …mathematically one of them is bound to put up numbers
-
Jacob McFarland (Houston) Redshirt- either through foul trouble or injury could see tons of minutes… unlikely to put up the scoring stats, but if houston wins the league and he is getting starter minutes … he could "winner gets the spoils " his way in
not on roster option:
- Tyron Stokes: the #1 recruit of 2026: expected to reclass… choosing between Louisville, BYU and Kansas
- Kelvin Odih (Top 75 Recruit / WVU decommit) is choosing between Utah and Maryland - if he lands in utah who has practically no players, they will lilkley center the offense around him (likely what they are promising to try and land him)
Xavion Staton is a top 35 recruit at BYU, too.
Oh, I’m an idiot. I get what you’re saying. Staton isn’t likely to make the freshman team. I get it. Oops
Obviously not going to be the Cinci players
Parrish seems pretty high on the big 12 this coming year. 3 in top 5, 5 in top 10
“Strongest conference in America” buzz is back with 3 strong weeks to start the season for the Big XII
There is no way we (Iowa State) are a top 10 team right now on paper.
We whimpered the last two months of the season, and had a brutal finish in the NCAAs. Milan didn’t make the jump many hoped or expected, and Otz continued his penchant of poor roster utilization and in-game management, things that have been issues across most of his tenure. It’s also hard to ignore the tendency for ISU teams to play well early in the season and falter late, as other teams continue to gel and make adjustments.
From last year’s teams we lose 2 or our 3 primary ball-handlers, who were also 2 of 4/5 primary scorers, with Jones being the best offensive threat we have on the team. We also lacked a viable back-up PG that we have yet to fill in the portal. From the portal, we replace our two outgoing bigs with Buchanon and Mulder, a move that could go either way from an improvement standpoint. At the guard position we bring in Mason Williams, a nice player, but hardly one that moves the needle.
Jefferson and Lipsey are a good cornerstones but there are too many questions, too many holes, for us to even be in the conversation. Right now I think we might be closer to 10th in the conference (6th) than being 10th in the nation.
A more valid topic, for Iowa State, might be who is the more overrated team right now? The 2025-2026 men’s basketball team, or the football team (who is 10-15 in a lot of pre-season polls)?
Seems to be based more on reputation than roster…
@zrf last year yall were playing with so much confidence.
The win at Texas Tech was a helluva game.
Momcilovic injury. The deflating loss at Arizona. And then the loss at home to Kansas St
The team kinda lost its swagger. But yall played us very tough at Houston, down 2 starters
Houston & Iowa St are very similar. People question do we have enough offense to win it all. Last yr, we did have enough scoring options & we were healthy to win it all.
I think Otz didnt develop his bench enough or mis evaluated. Heise, Watson, Indrusaitis, in my opinion, were not great options off your bench
I like yalls program & your returning players. But, have not been impressed with yalls work in the portal. NCAA tournament team sure, but Final Four contender, i wouldnt say so
KU is in the mix for Tyran Stokes (#1 ranked recruit in 2026 class). He is likely going to reclassify to 2025 and could team up with Daryn Peterson at KU.
So after the SEC has the greatest season ever they’ve got no preseason top 10 teams. I’m skeptical of that.
They were a senior loaded conference last year

Not sure what to make of this as I don’t follow other programs very much. Seems like either a disaster or just the way things are nowadays with opportunity knocking for some players.
Where’s Drayton when they need him…
jsut things now adays… only 1 player is a surprise that left baylor, in the PG… everyone else they fully expected to leave and have mostly already replaced… they just need a pg
