You wanna know why i vibe with you guys over texas or A&M…or tech or utah…or even age old “conference mates” like Nebraska and Oklahoma… or regional crap like iowa and kansas state…?
Because by the current “accepted” laws of nature… by cruel circumstance that has tried to keep us down…UH/ISU/BYU shouldn’t be here, shouldn’t be allowed back in…shouldn’t be in the big time time at all…
But by the grit, and passion, and indomitable spirit of people like you…
WE BURST THE DOOR DOWN.
None of the networks are doing us any favors. Nobody is clamoring for UH, ISU, or BYU to be here, quite the opposite over the years.
And yet, here we are.
Against all odds, WE WON. And im not just talking about final scores. I mean in the most hollistic sense that goes far beyond that…
WE WON That’s what ******* happened.
That’s not an opinion, that’s just reality.
We were told to go away, told why we’re destined to be marginalized, why we should take exile lying down…but we won. And we will continue to win, because of people like you.
In college sports, even within this conference, we tell ourselves we are all connected. In a sense, we are. But in the most basic sense, ultimately, college sports fans have never been more disconnected than they are right now.
But WE are connected.
You think a blue blood appreciates a Tamin Lipsey? **** no. You think a Duke thinks Houston should be dogwalking them up and down the court? Noooo. You think the SEC thinks Bear Bachmeier and BYU deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as their 8th best team? Nope.
But they are wrong. They are all wrong. And we show them that every day. CKS is the goat, the Coogs are a machine. ISU has elite coaches on a discount. BYU just needed the door cracked, and they raise the bar every day at lightning speed.
But at the end of the day, it’s all because of people like you reading this post. Tech doesnt quite get it. Nor does Utah, or Iowa or KState.
They’re not like us. They arent.
We’re built different. We’re better. I’m not gonna apologize for that, and neither will you.
