Be careful. Ron is opposed to a post like this.
Well according to the article, Boise State has stopped looking into changing conference unless they are using their Gmail accounts to communicate so the Idaho press will not find further info.
I am not opposed to this post but itâs all about money even in the AAC. I am not sure ESPN would give an equal share to any school other than BYU or Boise State.
Letâs just get a little crazy and wrap this entire AAC expansion mess up. Jump up to 16 and call it a day.
Boise State
BYU
UNLV
SDSU
New Mexico or Colorado State
Covers all time zonesâŠfootball games on all day every Saturday in the Fall. Probably wonât happen and all you guys will probably hate itâŠbut it would drive the nail in the coffin of the MWC and would strengthen our P6 argument.
Our cable contract is set, does adding a team water it down or force them to pay more?
Iâm not sure what the contract says, but when Uconn left, there were reports that ESPN would not reduce the payout so I assume it is up to ESPN if a particular school is worth a share.
I already covered your response by saying you would hate it in my post. Your facepalm is invalid.
Ohh if they actually add value to the cable contract then of course bring them in
Based on what !!!
Adding New Mexico and UNLV is the equivalent or worse of adding ECU and TulaneâŠ
Really?
Last five years weâre 31-26, Boise is 48-13. They have 3 T-25 finishes, 4 division titles, and 2 conference championships. We have none. I donât think weâre in any position to label them as a âhas beenâ.
Perhaps we (AAC) ask ESPN who they want and what the additional money could be because of it.
After Uconn left, our commissioner said that no school added value so we stayed at 11. Boise State and BYU probably did not contact him at that time.
To me a valuable school either has national brand recognition or is in a large TV market. I think that is what the AAC is looking for.
Exactly why I said they are headed to being a has been.
Based on what though?
Lol Boise State is not a has been and is not headed in that direction either
Cougardue, was it Boise & San Diego State, originally???
Big East/AAC went after Boise State for their brand name and San Diego State for the large TV market.
