I’ll make that Vegas trip every year if they join.
I don’t need UNLV to make a yearly trip to Vegas. Think the “Big Smoke.”
Outside of a great destination for a weekend, UNLV is not a good choice. U of Nevada would be better, but not much.
And that’s a roadie to Reno, with a short drive out to Lake Tahoe.
This time of year, rumors will fly. I will believe what I see. After the Big 12 debacle, UH should be leery.
Nevada has a loyal fan base and a good tradition of winning in football.
I thought that Aresco guy was going to really help the AAC with his network connections. So far all I’ve seen him do is collect a check.
Little known fact - Reno > Las Vegas
No Boise for me. Basketball isn’t strong enough. In my mind add BYU and be done.
Sdsu has a pretty good market and large alumni base. Plus gregory peck and carl weathers.
SDSU would be a good pick but man imagine the cost of bringing all the non-revenue sports from Florida or North Carolina.
can’t we just add boise, sdsu, co st and byu. football only
If we add the 3 , I hope we are guaranteed the playoff spot when it expands like that guy mentioned or can expect true P6 status?
We can’y add just to add as it dilutsd the payouts to the current 11. IF we add, it has to be for a GUARANTEE of P6 status or it is a no go. Period.
I agree
My two cents…Aresco is posturing for an expanded eight team playoff: conference champs (including the AAC), one at large, and one non Power 6 (assuming the AAC champ becomes the sixth automatic).
If so that is ok , he just better get a guarantee before we invite 3 teams, otherwise we have more competition and mouths to feed for nothing.
BYU (if we can get them) and Boise definitely carry their weight; I have zero doubt that our average TV payout would increase at our next contract renewal with them in the fold. It’s Team Number Three that would create an issue.
I know 16 gets bad wrap. But 16 is the right number

You are going to want the service academies in the conference. If Army doesn’t want to join then add Colorado State or UNLV and send Tulane to the East.
If Air Force and Navy are in a conference, it should be tempting to Army. But can our guy’s knees stand all three of them?
