Nope, just a typical guy presenting FACTS that debunk your post.
Have we seen any gray smoke coming from the pipes on St. Cullen Blvd ?
Iām in a blaming mood. Can you point them out by name so I can report for moderation? This includes (discovery) of any personal shoe messages.
āIF we land Weigman, our 2026 QB room COULD beā¦ā
Twas a hypothetical my guy.
And Iām glad you brought up the possibility of a position change for Carlisle. I actually think thatās a realistic possibility. I honestly donāt see Carlisle in front of Henderson at QB, even with a year of experience in the program. You donāt sign a 6ā4, 5āļø QB to sit him behind a 5ā10, 3āļø guy. You sign him to sit behind another 5āļø like Weigman, assuming he doesnāt come in and beat him out for the job.
Austin is extremely fast & given his height, could do very well as a slot WR or even as a RB. Thereās a reason why CWF recruited over him in the very next class. And given the fact that weāre trying hard to land Weigman for the the next 2 years, as well landing the commitment of Henderson, I can only assume the coaching staff doesnāt see Carlisle as their QB of the future.
We had a guy here circa 2008 to 2010 ish who was around 6 ft, 5 ft-10 ish, a low 3 star who currently holds NCAA passing records and is a NFL QB.
Then there was another 5ft 10 ish, 3 star 3rd stringer QB who won our only conference championship in the last 27 years.
What counts is the fight in the dawg man, not the stars.
No need for that.
You can go back and read some of the posts just before mine. Hell, 92010 posted about sneakers in the post immediately before my first one on the topic.
I hear you. But the difference here is, neither one of those guys had a 5āļø QB on their backs. They also didnāt have a 5āļø QB in front of them either. AND we were in the G5 when they played. Keenum & Ward were the exception, not the rule.
Tulane QB is in the portal⦠CWF recruited him
Itās a long way before Henderson signs. With his ranking and skill set, big money programs will continue to solicit him, a la Bryce Underwood. Weāll see if UH can keep him all the way to signing day 2025.
Yes, there seems to be a whole lot of counting chickens before they hatch here on Coogfans.
Iāll say this. Iām sure as Hell am not going to count on either an unproven, or an UNSIGNED HS QB to come in and take the reins.
Nor am I going to forfeit the chance to sign a proven I-FBS starter under the theory that doing so will cost such an unproven player the chance to come in and be a miracle worker.
That would be too much of a risk for me, and Iām guessing our staff feels the same way.
Given that, contacting these top transfer portal QBs in the hopes of signing one or more seems like the most prudent course of action.
I fully expect us to sign one or more of those, and for one of those persons to be named the starter at the end of Spring training.
Alsoā¦Henderson is in the 247 database as a WR/ATH. Maybe he is the one who will end up switching positions.
I do agree that Austin Carlisle is such a good athlete himself that he could also easily play another position. But he was an outstanding passer at RP so weāll see.
Hereās an answer from an Aggie on another board:
His shoulder was injured during the first game of the season against Notre Dame, but he played the whole game. Not sure if the coaches knew the severity at the time.
The next few games Reed played so he could rest, and Reed looked ok to good.
Conner returned to start in and dominate during the Mizzou game, but was then benched by the second half of the LSU game because Reed provided a spark. Reed won the job with that LSU performance.
No. Henderson committed to UH because hes being recruited as a qb. Every other school wants him at receiver.
Iām in desperate need of boom in this thread
Starting to see guys (non UH) getting predictions and short lists. Maybe we hear good news soon
Whoops meant to post this here
Lots of guys are promised the opportunity to come in initially compete at the position they want to play. Sometimes it works out, sometimes a position change happens down the road. I hope Henderson does end up here, at QB, and does great.
