BOOM! Conner Weigman commits to Houston!

If Coogs were fortunate enough to get Weigman every QB should transfer but Carlisle of course. Esp if Henderson comes in 2026. This obviously being if they want or they can play somewhere else. Many are ok as 3rd string QB n have other more important tasks they want to achieve.

We need CORNERBACKS! That should be priority #1 in the portal since we lost BOTH of our 4⭐️ cornerback commits. Good o-linemen will be out of our price range. Plus, we have 5-6 talented young guys on the line who’ve been developing that I wanna see play.

I personally don’t want another 5 star Aggie quarterback transfer.

But if Fritz wants Weigman, I trust his judgment.

From what I’ve seen of him @ SEC competition he would beat Pratt in 40. But going against SEC Defense every week can make you look avg in a hurry.

Weigman had about 50 yards running for his whole aggie career…He CANNOT run, he is a passer. He doesnt fit what Fritz looks for. We arent Michigan. We need a QB who can run and throw…Carlisle certainlt fits that, far more than Weigman. Carlisle will be here for Spring, along with 6 other freshmen. THESE guys are serious about winning…Great record running AND throwing at Ridge Point. He reminds me of Case Keenum. Next year, Criss and McMickle may get more playing timewe’ll see…but Carlisle and 2026 commit QB Henderson are the future.

In addition to Pancakes Hunter, we have Ronnell McLain, Ray’Quan Bell, Derek Joiner, & Cayden Bowie who have all been developing. Willie knew this season was gonna be trash, so why waste a year of these guys’ eligibility?

We also brought in freshmen: 4⭐️ Demetris Dean, (6’8, 335lbs) RJ Lee, Sadrick Terrell, & Eythan Thompson.

And we’re returning upper classmen David Ndukwe, Hingano Hautau, Sam Seacrest, & Larry Crawford. I think we’ll be fine at o line

Because he can likely throw the ball better than any other QB on our roster with P4 experience.

He only has 1 year of eligibility left, so he’d be gone by the time Henderson got here. Plus, we were Austin’s ONLY P4 offer. That kid isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

For sure, we are going to be improved a whole lot with OL. We have good stable of running backs, and WRs…we need to develop some good pass catching TEs, but several young guys we have could do it. I am anxious to see this spring how all our QBs do, running and throwing. and the play calling, with coach Nagle will be MUCH better…lets dont forget that either.

You want to blow the majority of our NIL pot in this QB, though?

So you didn’t really answer on whether you’re saying the reports are untrue or not. Not disagreeing on any of the Running is not his 1st strength… thk we all know that. I have No sources on the matter, so i take it that it’s your opinion that the reports are erroneous. Bc not a single Staff member is reaching out to Weigman n his posse  w/o consent from the head man-- CWF.

If you’re talking abt Weigman he has 2 yrs left.

Edit-- was RS Soph in 2024

Good catch. You’re correct, he did get a RS. Welp, I guess we should hope he balls out & goes pro after a year lol.

I will say this tho, even DJ Lagway had to sit for a while b4 starting at Florida. Keep in mind that we ONLY landed Henderson bc we promised him the opportunity to play QB while the big name schools wanted him as a WR. If Weigman is balling out & we’re winning, I dont see why Henderson taking a RS year would be off the table.

The problem with UH fans is that we suck so bad that we’re afraid to potentially lose a 5⭐️ recruit bc he “possibly” wouldn’t start as a true freshman due to us having competition at the position. I think that’s backwards thinking, especially when considering the fact that Henderson would be better off using his RS year to fill out his slender frame & learn the system. That way we don’t ruin his confidence by throwing a true freshman to the wolves in a conference that’s only getting better by the year.

If you dont have a good quarterback, you aren’t winning, period. Also, good QBs elevate the play of everyone else around them. If he is even a 7.5/10 here, we would be a much better team overall. And you know what good recruits like? GOOD TEAMS! So yea, if we have to pony up major dollars for an upgrade at that position, then we should do it in a heartbeat. Besides, literally every (good) major program is paying their QB the most out of anyone on their rosters.

Yes, please, to this dude coming to UH.

Lagway started because Sr. QB Graham Mertz got an ACL injury and was out for the rest of the season. Lagway performed well as Florida starter, finishing 4-1, and is the expected starter going into the Spring.

Quinn Ewers (sat behind several guys at Ohio State), Cam Newton(Sat behind Tim Tebow), Tim Tebow(sat behind Chris Leak), Johnny Manziel(Sat behind Ryan Tannehill), Peyton Manning(Sat behind Todd Helton) Tom Brady(Sat behind Brian Griese for YEARS) to name a few, ALL had to sit behind upperclassmen their true freshman years.

Redshirting Carlisle or having him at QB2 is perfectly normal for any young qb’s development.

Throwing him into the fire immediately when its not necessary is insane.

Donovan Smith was our big NIL acquisition…he just didn’t pan out

His personal rushing production at AnM is next to nothing, actually pathetic… His passing, not great. If you can’t run here you won’t be a success at QB. Do we really need a Qb who doesn’t /can’t run with less than average passing ability? Here’s Conner in 2024

Fritz knows how to run the ball. Our rushing attack was the best it’s been in a number of years it didn’t matter who was back there Sanford, Sneed, Burnette and Butler all found success at times carrying the rock. Continue to upgrade the blocking upfront and next years rushing attack should be even better. Combine that with a quarterback like Weigman that knows how to run an offense and can make some big time throws and our offense could take a massive step forward next season.
