BOOM! Conner Weigman commits to Houston!

So you don’t follow Aggie football and you’ve never seen him play, yet you want to compare him to Kyle Allen?

Guess what? I don’t follow Aggie football and I’ve never seen him play so I have no opinion on if he will be a good fit here or not.

One of the things that hurt my initial opinion of CWF is that he said he “refused” to watch game film from our 2023 season.

He wanted to only know his players from practice.

In my opinion, that decision right there led to 2 losses minimum and especially the UNLV game which was a hot mess.

Had he been prepared…we’d probably be bowling right now

That’s where Tilman and Pez need to step in BEFORE they hired CWF.

They could have helped to set things up better for him via side NIL.conversations, package deals, and an agreement sooner (even if unofficial)

Happens all the time…as in half way through the season.

Renember when Herman’s LSU rumors came out?

I get it. He wasn’t trying to have any inherent bias. It’s just that hindsight was 20/20

It wasn’t 20/20…it sounded like an excuse for not being prepared and "not being prepared " and “lack of consistency” turned out to be terns used to descrive the 2024 season

Thanks bud :+1:t5:

Well teach ME something lol I ha no idea he was injured.

You literally just blamed CWF for renewing Donovan’s NIL deal & now you’re saying it was Tillman & Pez’s fault? I’m confused. What makes you think it’s a good idea for a chairman of the board & an athletic director to hand pick the coach’s QB? This isn’t the NFL where they have general managers for that sort of thing.

Besides, Tillman & Pez are not the x’s & o’s type of guys. CWF otoh, landed us a 5⭐️ QB FROM HOUSTON! I trust his judgment. If he felt like the best thing for him to do at the time was to retain Donovan Smith, who are we to question that decision?

He should not. Physically Carlisle can and needs to get some weight on his frame or just get stronger

He’s ultra talented, but I was shocked at his size. I don’t know why I thought he was bigger. I’ll never count a small guy out (funny I say small guy, he’s probably heavier than me), though. Think about Tank Dell!

WHAT??? :joy: Why would he waste the entire 1st week or so of his new job watching tape on guys he sees in practice every day? ESPECIALLY when he was busy trying to salvage a recruiting class that Dana gave up on. And he only had 2 weeks to get it done.

Newsflash, CWF walked straight into a full scale rebuild. We ended up losing NINE guys that started games for us on offense & another THIRTEEN on defense due to the portal, graduation, injuries, & in 2 cases, former starters being benched. CWF was too busy watching film on all of the guys he was recruiting to fill those vacated roles.

That had nothing to do with Barbay being terrible at his job. He’s the reason for the OFFENSE “not being prepared” & “lack of consistency.” The defense turned out just fine.

This is why I don’t understand Coog fans wanting to have him start on as a true freshman. He’s already at a disadvantage bc of his size, yet folks want him to go straight from high school to starting in the Big 12 on day 1. I know were were a bad team this year but damn, we can’t even let the kid take his school ID picture b4 anointing him as the savior.

I should qualify. I meant Houston QB.

No, never saw Manzeil live. Gold standard for me is VY

Carlisle reminds me of Ward, quick and shifty with a good arm. He looks ready to go to me.

This is not going to happen. Not a good fit. Good that he even considered though.

There’s a big difference between being an 18 YO and playing against 17-18 YO players and being 18 and playing against 21-22 YO (or 24 -25 if it’s BYU.)

Lucky for us, you don’t make the decisions here.

I was reading your post, BYU joke came to me, then you already had it in there.

Well played sir. Well played.

C’mon 27, you don’t actually think a HC of CWF caliber is unprepared. He stands by his players, unlike that previous clown show act. Dude is Leader, that’s why you didn’t see everyone jumping into the Portal after change in the OC/DC as the Chicken Littles predicted. It’s also why he kept the 2025 signing class largely intact. He’s a proven winner and will build UH into one even in this brutally tough NIL-era

With the signing of three offensive tackles to go with the three interior linemen we got last class we’re going to be in good shape down the road. But other than maybe Bowie, who will be a redshirt sophomore, I wouldn’t count on any of the others this coming year, at least not as starters. I think they need another year or two in the weight room and should be ready by the time they’re redshirt sophs and juniors. But for next year we have to find some portal guys who can come in and play well. We need a couple of tackles and one, maybe two guards. We’re set at RB, pretty much at WR, might add a TE. Defensively we’re probably looking at one interior lineman, a defensive end or two, a linebacker, a corner, a guy who can play the anchor position, and a safety. So I look for us to bring in roughly 12-14, which is about half the 27 transfers we signed last year.
