BOOM! Conner Weigman commits to Houston!

If he comes, we really need to updrade our receiving corp. We really lack speed

He is just another Aggie 5 star doofus who cant run and we dont NEED and shouldnt want him. PERIOD
CWFs great teams have dynamic running QBs
Michael Bishop at Blinn, Michael Pratt at Tulane. Criss struggles some in the passing game, but he got the QB job because he can RUN! Our HS phenom Carlisle is a great runner. Weigman should be talking to schools like Michigan, Ohio State or Ole Miss where he can pass the ball and hand off to the running backs.

This is like saying Hurricane Harvey was somewhat moist.

Thats why i think McMickle and Carlisle will be our QBs next year.

Aldine is spot on. When we have a porous OL that can’t protect the QB, why would we want a pocket QB that can’t run. Makes no sense. Lets spend that NIL money wisely, on a bigger OL and speedy receivers.

Y’all are way too attached to QBs who have not played a down in NCAA. I want them to succeed as long as they are Coogs but I want the best QB room possible. If you can get Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes and Case Keenum on the same team, you do it.

Answer: because having QBs that couldn’t pass but could run led us to having the nation’s WORST offense.

Given that, give us a PASSER!!!

then we are they desperately trying to get him here???

Wingman is a decent runner. I don’t know why it keeps being said that he can’t run.

Manning, Brady, and Mahomes all excelled because they had great OLs. Case didn’t, but he made things happen with his athleticism. O’Korn was supposedly a great passer, but he looked mediocre constantly running for his life.

Championship? Year 1? With the roster WE had? With the NIL money we DON’T have?? :joy::joy: Even Coach Prime couldn’t turn that around in a year. You’re smokin meth if those were your expectations. And that’s not an excuse, that’s good ole common sense. Maybe you should find some :man_shrugging:t5:

Indiana pulled it off but they had a really big NIL program. We didn’t.

The word delusion is rampant. Don’t be surprised. There are some ppl in this fanbase whom I doubt even go to games but they will make ridiculous claims on how we should be winning national championships.

Guess what we’d need that we don’t have much of to make something like that happen
$NIL, and a LOT of it!

Also, a coach also needs more than 2 damn weeks to put together a recruiting class! CWF just brought in some of the highest rated recruits we’ve ever had & you’re sitting here dunking on the man bc we’re not 11-1 & in the playoffs like Indiana. Take off your rose colored glasses so you can see clearly that we had the #37 SOS in the country. Indiana’s was #100 b4 they played Ohio State. They only played TWO teams with a winning record & almost lost both of em. That kind of success is extremely rare and an asinine thing to expect from a coach in his 1st season.

Oh & Indiana could give $10m to charity out of their NIL fund & they’d STILL have more money than us. THAT’s how Cignetti was able to bring a bunch of his JMU guys with him. And funny thing is, their quarterback wasn’t one of them. If you’re wondering why Fritz didnt bring guys like his star receiver Chris Brazzell with him Houston, that’s why. We simply couldn’t afford the type of scenario you suggested.

And in case you haven’t noticed, we’re not in the American anymore bud. This was always gonna be an uphill climb no matter who the coach was. We didn’t luck into that one P4 conference that let a team who couldn’t win the AAC until we left come in and dominate them in year ONE. We have a tougher road in the Big 12. So unless you have a couple grand you wanna donate to our collective, I’d suggest you temper your expectations & enjoy the ride.

So looks like your still avoiding the question. Im sure not vouching that he should come to UH. I listed his shortcoming just like you did. Your just choosing t9 avoid how your opinion maybe opposite of what the Coogs are trying to do. Someone is wrong.

As a former D1 track & field sprinter, trust me when I say that Michael Pratt was NOT FAST. He was mobile enough to gain decent yardage when everyone was in back in coverage, but he wasn’t beating anyone on that team in a foot race unless they played offensive or defensive line. He was about as fast as Shedeur Sanders, which isn’t saying much. You make it sound like he could run a 4.4 in the 40 with no shoes on. :joy:

You do realize that play calling can make or break your oline right? Colorado has a pocket QB and a suspect oline but they’re about to have a WR win the Heisman & their QB is likely the #1 pick in the draft. Why? Bc their OC does a great job of scheming guys open & he places a focus on getting the ball out of the Shedeur’s hand as quick as possible. They throw a ton of quick passes to the receivers in space & let them do the rest. Barbay got fired in part bc he didnt understand this.
