He didn’t click with their position coach and were losing to boot. So I’d be mad at the coaches not the player.

When I read that, I saw it as an explanation as to why George felt he wasn’t getting the playing time that he thought he deserved.
I don’t know what, if any, issues there are between Durkin and George. It may be a signal that George has a problem with authority and could be a distraction in the locker room, but there isn’t any additional evidence to support that. It is just as likely that, as I said, George saw Durkin as the reason he wasn’t getting playing time – that A&M coaches didn’t see his ability to contribute relative to others. So what? Doesn’t everyone think his boss doesn’t fully appreciate his contributions? Sure, George shouldn’t have said that part. George should have just held on to the line that he was seeking the opportunity for more playing time.
