I agree on JoJo being more advanced. Doesn’t guarantee the end results but he is coming in more prepared to play immediately than J’Wan did.
I see JoJo being our 4th big
Sounds like a Scottie Pippen situation.

I go to the gym here in Clackamas (suburb of Portland) during my lunch and shoot hoops. Today when I was leaving, a young girl walked in wearing a Houston (For The City) shirt. It caught my eye and I say “Hey…Houston”. She smiled and I headed toward the court exit. I turned around to see if she was close by so I could ask her if she was from Houston…and she said that she was from Houston, sorta, but that the shirt was from her little brother who was going to play basketball for Houston.
Of course I had to know who it was and asked. She said “Joseph Tugler”. My eyes lit up and I couldn’t tell her enough how excited the fanbase was to have him at UH. She was awed that I knew about her brother and I told her pesik and progs were all over it …and everyone knew her brother. She was excited that we knew about Jojo…and said that he was excited because of all the talent that was coming in. Her name was Alexar…and she said that she has a twin sister…and they both played at ULM.
Why was she in Clackamas at the gym? She’s now a traveling nurse and is currently working in the area. Super nice person. Very personable. Glad I was ending my shooting session as she probably would schooled me worse than Mr. Hand.
Nothing else special other than the excitement from the Tugler family to be coming to Houston. Alexar also mentioned that CKS was a winner and that’s why Jojo wanted to come. Very neat interaction…and proof that the world is really small (sometimes)!!!

Did you ask her how tall he is in socks?
Out of socks please
She did mention that he is still growing.
Also…she did mention Jojo being excited about McFarland and the guard (I think she meant Jefferson). He’s hyped for those guys.
I have some big 10 friends that coach around the CyFair ISD. They have started conversations about jojo without any input from me. They are incredibly impressed.
I think for JoJo Tugler to take that next step he will have to develop a consistent 3 pt shot like Fabian & Gorham as a stretch 4. Right now he’s more of an under sized 5 w/offensive potential left.
Worst case scenerio: Montrez Harrell.
Best case scenerio: Paul Millsap.
Kind of hard to proclaim that a HS kid’s worst case scenario is still an NBA player
You may not agree he’s not Jarace Walker like we all do but if he puts time on the lab he can become an NBA talent.
All the ingredients are there like huge hands, wingspan, man child body, athleticism & maybe grows a bit more!
Strengths Rebounding, defense, shot blocking & put backs(w/power)!
Weaknesses Perimeter shooting.
Like an 8 yr & 15 year Pro at that. Projection much? Let the Young Man come to UH and learn the game better under great Coaches w/o all the One n done etc proclamations. Too Old School here I guess.
He’s getting better with his shot.
Give him time with Kellen. Going to be a match made in heaven.
I’m not even saying that. It’s kind of ridiculous to say that any high schooler’s worst case scenario is an NBA player at all much less one that’s been in the league for a while. Basically every kid has bust potential. Do I think Tugler is gonna be good? Absolutely, but I wouldn’t put that on him at this stage
After seeing him play, his floor is Kareem and his ceiling is LeBron
Lots lots of pressure comes from the outside when these kids are 17, 18 yrs old n they don’t want to let those people down. The Grounded ones finally learn to tune out the noise n just Hoop-- see Q. Grimes.
I have Kareem on the same floor as LJ, MJ,
Edit: or ceiling I guess.
Plus I finally actually went to watch him play – LIVE-- I put his floor at Bo Outlaw level
