BOOM!

I’m not to sure about jr. High and HS guys having their height being held against them.

I always looked for guys that were smart and were not afraid to stick their noses in the pile and hit….

If two guys had similar abilities I looked at which kid was tougher more than anything else.

But he had 107 tackles as a freshman at Morgan State and was 2nd team all-MEAC before he showed up at UH. He must be giving them credit for refining him to become the outstanding player he is at this time.

Elandon is one of my all time favorite players at UH. Boy could that guy lay the wood.

Can’t teach the desire to hit… You can teach form-tackling, but you either love to hit or you don’t.

No doubt. Measurables are fine, but I like productive players, who are committed and play with heart. Those types of players make everyone around them better.

I love the story on why Roberts was drafted. Bilicheck was watching tape on the Navy QB, scouting whether to draft him. He kept noticing this Cougar cutting through and making the tackle on the stud QB. So then he decided to watch tape on Roberts and knew then they wanted to draft him.

Scholarship for what? Just give them cash to pay their tuition and books. They’re not student athletes anymore. Just semi pro mercenaries

Would you like to go back to student athletes having no money? Risking your life for free, while the clip board holder makes all the dough? What are your suggestions? Million dollar coach poor student method?

Don’t be so dramatic

“Risking their life”?

After the game are they going to fight a fire or join the military?

There were millions of possibilities for an 18 year-old to pursue. They chose a free education for playing 12 football games a year. No one forced them. And it’s still against the rules to be compensated for playing,

At this point the enforceability of any “paying college FB player” rules are virtually NIL.

You make it sound like it’s the army reserves. I think there’s a little more to being on the football squad than suiting up for 12 games per year.
