I’m sure the families of the women assaulted at Baylor on HC Briles watch agree with you. Good to have a son that won’t rat out his dad when the football players are raping/assaulting women. What high standards you have.

You make a good point. I might consider him after some more distance from the scandal but I would expect him to be able to address the Baylor issue frankly in a way that makes people comfortable that he wouldn’t allow that type of culture.
If he were to leave for ULL, I would like to see Kendal Briles as our OC. He did a good job at FAU with lesser talent. Just think how much better would he be with UH talent.
Winning is more important than character? You realize thousands of season ticket holders would never agree with this hiring. And it seems a silly divisive hypothetical.
Glad you can read the date in a newspaper article.
I’m posting these because it seems that people have a short memory.
Just for your reading pleasure, from a summary of the Pepper Hamilton report (because Baylor wouldn’t release any facts):
But the 13-page “Finding of Fact” prepared for Baylor by the Philadelphia law firm Pepper Hamilton includes five “coaches” or football staff engaging in behavior that stifled school and criminal investigations into serious allegations, including:
Meeting directly with a complainant or their parent and not reporting the alleged misconduct.
Abdicating their duties under federal protections for student welfare, health and safety by not reporting incidents to the university or suspending players without explanation and helping them transfer.
Seeking to maintain “internal control” over discipline of players and diverting cases from the student conduct or criminal proceedings.
Those instances helped reinforce " an overall perception that football was above the rules, and that there was no culture of accountability for misconduct," the summary stated. The document doesn’t identify any coaches by name or position - including Art Briles.
To think that Kendal didn’t know what was going on is absurd.
Short memory indeed. I have daughter and I find it astonishing and repulsive that some of our own sound just like Baylor fans. The day a Briles, or anyone associated with that program during the Rape years in Waco, is hired by UH is the day I cut ties with the University and my diploma gets taken down from the wall and placed in a storage box.
Earlier in this thread, I stated that I know Kendal, worked with him on a daily basis and never witnessed any poor character traits, but I was not saying that we should hire him. Nonetheless, everyone should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
Lincoln Riley and Sean McVey show that are on just a number, talent is talent. I don’t think Johnson is that talented by any stretch, but his age shouldn’t be a disqualifier his ability should be.

That’s the issue. They have yet to be proven guilty, but just because the fire is put out doesn’t mean we all can’t still see the smoke.
It’s just the smart thing to do, is stay far away from the Briles.
