UH is light years ahead when Judas was here…did some of you forget the awful defense, special teams, unending stupid personal fouls penalties, etc ? Pass on anything related to that crew
As far as Johnson is concerned, he can be a head coach without calling plays. As with any head coach, success will largely depend on his staff and whether or not he can instill discipline and a culture of winning. If he hires the right OC, he could be very successful.
With saying that, I have a feeling he’ll be calling plays for UH next year.
Forgive me but I don’t see the glitter. Houston offense was anaemic against poor defenses this season. He barely moved the ball with a top prospect at his disposal and a solid Corp of WR who put a number on Oklahoma last season. Houston should have been a top 10 offense this season.
I’d be the first to congratulate him if he succeeds next season and I hope he does. He could very well be Houston’s next HC , but first things first, he has to step up his game, (pun intended)
As indicated earlier, hope it is not Scelfo. He is the current oline coach. Cannot keep changing oline coaches, that is part of the problem.
Big key to our O is WR blocking. Very inconsistent this year. Corbin often acted like it was beneath him and Lark often just made a token effort. Even Bonner and Dunbar whiffed a few times but they were mostly solid.
I don’t know who our best WR will be in the Spring, but if they can’t block well, they shouldn’t play come fall, no matter how fast they run or how good their hands are. Just my opinion.
Maybe take them to a retreat somewhere during the off season and show them video of Juju Smith-Shuster punching Burfict’s clock 24/7 for a week. Don’t do the taunting, but the hit was good football.
Hines Ward was an awesome blocker, too.
I agree, If you can’t block (or make 8/10 blocks), you shouldn’t play.
We can always use a tight end in the slot and let him find the OLB. Coach loves to put them at H back to block a DE instead of a LB. It’s puzzling to say the least.
From what I remember it was all defensive coaches and the HC that had involvement. Don’t recall ever seeing KB’s name in any of the accusations of cover ups. He shouldn’t be tarnished for just being around when it happened. I’d love it if he came on as OC.
Our TE blocking was lacking to say the least as well.
He didn’t step up, be a man, and call the higher authorities. That must be acceptable to you. Is that who you want leading and teaching these kids?
I’ve never read anything that said KB had knowledge of rapes that weren’t reported. If that’s the case then I don’t see how he can be blamed for not calling in “the higher authorities”. If you’ve info that counters that share it.
What kind of a coach isn’t aware that this is going on?
I’ll agree that he may not have known when it happened, who was involved, and details like that.
But are you telling me his father, and anyone else involved, didn’t say to him “dont worry, things are handled in the appropriate manner, this is under control.”
That sounds like hey, thats not in my hands anymore, I don’t have to worry about it. Sounds like an excuse for Apathy.
Did he know? Maybe not. Did he do anything about it? NOPE
So, you have no idea but have no problem throwing him under the bus because he was around at the time. What’s more, according to you if someone above him, his work superiors, told him things were being handled properly, but they weren’t and he had no knowledge of that, he’s still to blame. Got it.
I’m saying he did know and I don’t need to hear it from his mouth or anyone else from that organization.
I saw a coach tweet at one of our own players to go to bed last night. With that kind of oversight do you think what happened at Baylor would happen here?
If KB isn’t the type of coach to provide oversight on his players then he doesn’t belong here. He’s responsible for the players actions, he should be held accountable.
I see what you’re saying. You’ve come to a conclusion that I don’t think is supported by media reports. If you’ve some evidence to counter that share it. Otherwise we’re at an impasse and can talk about something else. KB’s probably not coming here anyway…
The fact of the matter is nobody took responsibility. Briles has said he didn’t do anything wrong but it is clear he must have. The report doesn’t name names but the staff can’t hide behind that. Either somebody takes responsibility or they all get some shame.
Give me a freaking break. No one knows if Kendall had anything to do with it. I am someone that wants to see Baylor burn. The corruption was up to the very highest levels. I’ve never seen Kendall’s name mentioned once, and he is s apparently a Coog.
Drawing conclusions not based in evidence merely implies your conclusions were based on prejudice.
The lawsuit accuses Briles’ son, former Baylor assistant coach Kendal Briles, of asking a Dallas prospect: “Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at Baylor and they love football players.”
Well didn’t Baylor QB RG III marry a white girl from Baylor? To me, that would seem to indicate something along those lines.
