I’m not saying attendance criticism isn’t warranted but damn, saying the Big 12 must regret us and that people are too afraid to park their cars in our campus is crazy work.

As a semi active neck beard on cougar board… you have 2 big bro groups on that board that dominate a lot that are just jerks. Most of us reasonable folks post in “friends only” where you can control who you interact with and who can see your posts. It’s nice for me, but makes the main board a bigger cesspool because nobody wants to be their friends.

Attacking UH for football attendance is low hanging fruit. Haters need to be more creative.

You don’t understand, Moncoog! It doesn’t matter that all of the on-campus housing keeps getting sold out every year for like the last fifteen years! Freshmen aren’t literally forced to live there, so we can never hope to be anything more than a glorified community college! No good fanbase doesn’t force their freshmen to live on campus, and every school that does do so has a thriving, robust campus life, like the ones SFA and SHSU are famous for! It definitely wasn’t all a ploy to eliminate competition for housing options and extract money from students! We’d be selling out every game if only we had mandated that freshmen live on campus!
We have tens of thousands of students and don’t fill up the student section.
We have more than 7,500 students on campus yet there are not 7,500 students at most games to use their free ticket.
So, no, having all 7,100 freshmen living on campus will have no correlation to attendance at sporting events.
Freshmen mandates are a money ploy to make students pay overpriced housing and board.
But it does matter because it 100% proves that our students don’t care about our athletics.
No, no, I have it on good authority that if we mandate that students live on campus we will be the new UCLA and otherwise we will be Cleveland State and there is no in-between. An on-campus housing mandate is the only difference between those two schools. (Do NOT Google whether UCLA mandates that Freshmen live on campus.)

And never forget that this magical housing mandate will revolutionize our campus life, but it will not increase anyone’s cost because they can just get a waiver. There is nothing contradictory about Schrödinger’s Housing Mandate.
Unless things have changed since I was at UH, the Student Service Fee in the tuition paid for student admission to sporting events. I’d say that means the students have paid for their tickets and they are not free.

Right now road construction all over Houston isn’t helping matters. People just think they would rather sit home and watch on TV than to fight traffic and figure a route to the game.
Correct, free being used in the sense that students don’t have to pay more than the student service fee like some schools charge.
Which makes it even more apparent that the students don’t care because they already paid yet don’t fill up the student allotment.
