Ha! They won’t be getting a virgin!
When you have a coaching staff and team that know they had a terrible performance the week before, they become a dangerous opponent, looking to prove their critics wrong. I am hoping UH has, not a chip, but a big boulder on their shoulder to prove the Cincinnati loss was not representative of their capabilities. I expect them to atone for that loss by playing with their hair on fire and surprising Iowa St.
Oh ye of little faith and slow to believe
It’s unfortunate that the new coach does not know that is who we always were when we were winning games and one of the darlings of the sports media world.
Maybe we should have hired a coach who ran that style of offense then.
Great comment.
Hey Coogs!
I want to start off by speaking for ALL ISU fans when I say we have a bit of special affinity for UH after last basketball season. I hope the feeling is mutual, and that it continues. Basketball is very important to the hardcore ISU fans because its all we had before Matt Campbell got here. Bit of an oversimplification that will rub some of the old timers the wrong way, but it’s a basically an indisputable fact and not something most ISU fans shy away from.
For the most part, UH fans were proud but realistic and respectful toward our squad, and you will come to find that’s pretty rare outside of Ames world. We are usually dismissed and downplayed, if not blatantly disrespected, by those outside of Iowa regardless of how good we are because there’s just a general pre-conceived notion that Iowa State is just not supposed to be good. Ever. Period. So i want to thank you all for that. Good luck to the Coogs on Saturday and going forword.
This ISU football team is good. That’s just a fact. Our staff is as good as you will find, we have talent and depth at every position, relatively speaking (obviously we aren’t Georgia). ISU is tough as nails, physical, has an identity that starts on the defensive side of the ball, and has all the weapons it could realistically hope for. Right now I havent seen much out of the rest of the Big 12 to think ISU isn’t a top 2 or 3 team in the Big 12 and a legitimate contender for the title.
Welcome!
I just hope that we can make it respectable.
If we play like last week, it could be a long day for us!
Welcome to the board! Many folks I know are deflated from our team’s performance this season, I guess reasonable from Y1 coaches. I am hoping for a good game this Saturday and thank you for coming on here to share this, nothing but respect. I am also hoping for a great series between our teams in the upcoming years.
It may be close for the first quarter, but after that, ISU’s talent and depth will take over and the Cyclones will pull away for the win. We’re in complete rebuild mode. If you are traveling to the game, safe travels. Go Coogs.
Guys and Gals. This is a mulligan year. Sometimes in CFB, programs have to take a year off to start fresh. Next year will be better. I promise…
Welcome to the forum! I am a fan of the Cyclones after spending many hours in game threads with your fans last year. Great people and always fun when we played.
Welcome. Hope to read you on the basketball board as well.
I chatted with some Cyclone fans when they came down to Houston for the basketball game last year. Friendly folks who know ball. Had a few beers together and talked hoops. Good peeps and hopefully we can continue to be the dominant teams in the Big 12.
Thank you. I have indeed already posted on the basketball board several times, even when UH wasn’t playing ISU. I will be back for basketball season for sure.
Nothing but respect for Sampson, his team, and UH Cougar Basketball. I now root for them outside of our games. Sampson kind of goes way back with us from his time at OU and has always had kind words to say about ISU. I respect the way they play ball. It’s always intense and in your face, but it’s just business and nothing personal. Very similar to what we do.
Clearly Iowa St. is superior to our Cougars this Season.
I expect them to win on Saturday.
However…we should play much better than we did last weekend.
I predict we cover the point spread. A loss, but a close game.
Welcome Cyclone fans to our Board! Have really enjoyed the Big 12 fans visiting.

Hell no!
But I still plan to be there and hope to see us compete.
From what I have seen so far, I actually cannot see us winning again this season.
Things on both sides of the ball will have to line up in a miraculous fashion.
Has happened before, but I ain’t putting money on it.
Damn…. Rice is bad !!
Miss the opportunity to see B12 champion live in Space City.
