Marcus Jones has the highest punt return average in nfl history.

Wasn’t case here last year?

Jerrod Johnson and the Texans have parted ways. It’s Case time!

No, he was in Chicago mentoring Caleb Williams.

Yes, Case Keenum is signed for the 2026 NFL season. He has finalized a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears worth $3 million, which includes a signing bonus and guarantees $2.15 million

What a coincidence, with Case mentoring CJ Stroud, he had his best year. Without Case, CJ has regressed each year. With Case mentoring Caleb Williams, he had his best year. The Bears were smart enough to appreciate Case’s contribution.

Happy for Case to get another contract. It speaks volume on what he brings to the QB room and to the entire Coaching staff. I would much prefer to see him play especially with so many bad QB’s in the league.
Remember:
Case will never play in the nfl. Yes that same matt thomas…

Another year with the Bears.

I just hope he gets into some games to add to his passing yardage before retiring.

It is funny, this thread was started in 2017, currently has a title that calls it the 2022 thread, and it is now 2026.

I wish the NFL can designate a player-coach position for each team if they meet minimum requirements.

Most soccer teams do this if the player is a certain age or played a number of years professionally.

Case started his NFL career with the Houston Texans in 2012. Case is currently vested in the NFLPA Retirement Plan. He is entitled to the following:

  • Lifetime Pension Plan. The formula is primarily determined by the number of seasons you play. The average payout is about $43,000.00/yr. Since Case started his NFL career in 2012, I think it is fair to say $43,000.00/yr. is on the low end.
  • 401K Plan. The NFL matches $2.00 for every $1.00 a player contributes up to the club match of $34,000.00/yr. Ten percent (10%) of pre-tax salary is contributed for eligible players who do not opt out.
  • Capital Accumulation Plan. Another retirement plan funded solely by the NFL club, where the player directs how that money is invested.
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). Funded by NFL Club during a player’s playing career. Case can access his HRA 5 years after his Continuing Veterans Insurance expires.
  • Medical Insurance. After Case retires, he gets 5 years of medical insurance at no cost.
  • Other Benefits. Disability benefits, joint replacement program, tuition assistance.

And how does your retirement package compare?

I have 23 years of military service and counting (no desire to retire), I’m not going to lie… my retirement is pretty good.

Back to the topic… after this 2-yr contract, Case will be in the top 10 highest grossing undrafted NFL players in League history.

The highest is Tony Romo - $127M. I think Case is at $64M after this new contract.

That’s incredible

I’m genuinely glad to hear that!

As for Case, what this shows is that athletic talent is great, but being a high-character guy–a selfless teammate–has extended his career.

Case deserves it because he earned it the hard way. The bears have learned what some nfl refuse to learn. A leader is priceless. Mind you the texans could have kept Case or even brought him back for a 7th round pick. They did not. Their QB room is now in disarray. This is 100% on the ownership to not understand what a true leader is. Some wonder why the texans have never made it to the Super Bowl or other similar teams/franchise do not make it. This is exactly why. Team owners and team G.M.'s think they know better than what is defined as common sense.
Caleb Williams is ā€œgrowingā€ into his talents. C.J. Stroud looked like he had no idea what he was doing in his last game. I call it the Case’s effect. There is another team in the North that just got ANOTHER qb. Yes, what could have happened if they had keep Case and build up the OL?
You need a ton of luck to make it in the nfl. Case made his luck. I called matt thomas when Case was trying to get drafted and after when the texans gave him a chance. Both times matt and the entire station repeatedly said as if trying to make a statement that Case will never make it in the nfl. They laughed at him, ridiculed him. Who is laughing now? Case could probably buy the radio station and have the last laugh. That is not the type of human being that he is.
Congratulations Case.

How can that be? Didn’t Charlie Palillo, Matt Thomas and the other pundits on local sports talk radio stations assure us that Case wouldn’t be able to play in the NFL?

Case’s dad was a H.S. HC. Case has played under multiple offenses and faced multiple defenses. He is a locker room unifier and a leader.
Case can basically run his own ticket to becoming an NFL HC at some point. He could also be a tremendous analyst by his knowledge of the game and more importantly with this charisma.

I think Case would coach in the NFL before going the college route.
He has too many connections at the pro level that can give him opportunities.

NIL and the transfer portal will probably be the reason why he won’t coach in college football.
