Receivers:
You could say sketchy at best. It is not a good sign when you look at the stats. The bright side is that it was last year. They are hoping that Treadwell will be productive. Zimmer’s own words:
Obviously they need more production from their entire receiving core. This is going to be a critical year for both Zimmer but also for their Shurmur their OC. They should move toward a much more play action oriented offense with quick passes. This is good news for both Bradford and Keenum. This is the type of Teams that should move toward a no huddle offense or at least make it an integral part of their strategy. In case they don’t this will spell trouble. We should see quickly how their pre-seasons game turn out.
OL:
Huge issues all around. Again, just look at the passing, rushing yards & PPG. Good news this was last year’s stats.

Murray will help to pass block and can be an effective runner. Their LT and RT are not good enough right now. These are two critical positions in the NFL. Bradford pretty much like Case was lucky to come out alive. They might move or shake up their OL. Boone could/Should? play at LT. His size would be a huge plus in the passing game and protection.
As you know the Center position is also an integral part of any NFL Team. It is a very under rated position. Center troubles usually mean bad OL. Now Zimmer might move him at Guard.

This is never a good sign for any offense. Furthermore if they go in the draft this becomes a majorly unbalanced OL. So as you can see there are a lot of question marks on the offense. It is a cliche but your record speaks for itself. 8 and 8 did not happen by accident. This draft is important in many areas.
Pre-season games do not mean anything? It does a great deal for the Vikings. They need to show that they have turned the page and have improved in key areas. Bottom line if the Vikings do not step up I expect either both or at least Shurmur to be going elsewhere.

Thank you, my pleasure. The problem with many NFL Teams is that they think they can win with their own philosophy without the right talent evaluator(s) or Coaching planning. The common denominator to win in the NFL can be found at WINNING organisations.
What made the 49ers, Raiders, Packers, Patriots successful? One great principal pulling the strings and the ability to delegate. Funny but the same recipe is employed by great business organisations.
Now how many NFL Teams do that today? That’s right not too many and they…keep winning. The Texans, Vikings, Chargers are not part of that group. That is why so many players fail or never achieve greatness. You need a ton of luck in the NFL to succeed. Unfortunately talent or desire is not enough.
Case’s contract per espn:
Case Keenum’s one-year, $2 million deal with the Vikings includes $1 million of guaranteed money, through a $250,000 signing bonus and $750,000 base salary guarantee. Keenum’s total base salary is $950,000, and he can make up to $750,000 in per-game roster bonuses by being on the Vikings’ 46-man roster on game days. Keenum gets a $50,000 workout bonus, and can also earn up to $250,000 in incentives.
I assume Case is being wise with his money due to the uncertainty of life as a journeyman QB in the NFL. $2MM this year, $3.79MM last year, plus what ever he made the several years before which was at least $500K per year means he has made between $7MM & $8MM in his short career. He should be set for life with whatever he does after this season. He certainly will be able to afford to start a career as an assistant coach.
However, I still believe he has several more years to go before that happens. And who knows, he may catch a break and actually get on a team with a good OL and receiving corp and show his true ability. I sure hope so because he is one of my all time favorite Coogs.
Keep in mind that he could also be part of a trade later on this season or earlier. The NFL is full of uncertainty. This will depend if Bridgewater can come back.
The more experience he gets makes him have more value.

Kind of deceptive that you went back 3 years instead of 4. The irony being, Keenum looked pretty good in his last 3 games in 2013 but the Texans lost all 3 where as in the 2 games he won in 2014, Keenum didn’t look very good in the first and he threw a pick 6 in the other against a terrible Jacksonville team.
Keenum doesn’t have the height to see over NFL lineman and doesn’t have enough zip on the ball on screen passes against NFL defensive backs. Keenum was given plenty of opportunity by the Texans franchise and to even hint that he was mistreated is ridiculous.
We’ve seen Texans coaches and players over that last 4 years make appearances at UH games. You don’t have to like pro football but if you do, it’s silly not to support the Texans if you are a Houston area football fan.
He showed the records under the current coach. That isn’t deceptive in the slightest. It shows how they did with the same playbook and same decision maker.

Why did BOB bring him back for the final two games with the playoffs on the line? He did win these two games right?You can follow up with they decided to not bring him back. So the Texans got to the playoffs and how did that turn out for them? Where is Savage in his development and what happened to Osweiler?
BOB has been a constant failure at the QB position while in charge. I don’t think this can be up to debate. Before he got the job he was to be a QB guru. Do you still feel the same way about him?

I believe BOB has been a complete failure on the way he has handled QBs. Not just Keenum. I also blame Rick for his trades and free agent signings. My point is that Keenum isn’t a starting NFL QB and that won’t change just because you don’t like the Texans’ coach.
So far Case has played with the Texans and Rams.
How was the OL for either Team when he played?
What is the common denominator for a successful NFL QB? I would strongly suggest a dominating OL and an OC using his QB’s best attributes. The ones that made him great in College.
How many so called prototypes QBs failed in the NFL because of a poor OL?
How many low to middle draft QBs succeeded in the NFL with a dominant OL?
How many QBs fail because of a bad OC?
The hard truth is that we probably will never know how good could Case become if given the chance to play with the proper OL and an OC that utilizes his best attributes.
Finally how many Coaches & G.M.s lose their job because they pick a QB thinking they can mold them into THEIR system? The N.F.L. is littered with fired Coaches and GMs because of that same reason.
You are right I don’t like BOB for the way he has treated Case and other players. Rick & BOB represent the worst that the NFL can offer. Its called bad evaluation on all levels. To think that these two are still employed in the N.F.L. is the reflection of the Texans. Believe me they are not the only one. The Chargers are another GREAT ONE.
The Vikings still have a way to hang on to Bridgewater beyond 2017, even if they don’t exercise his option. As NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport pointed out, if Bridgewater were to be placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list this summer without later being added to the 53-man roster, his contract would be “tolled,” which effectively means that the final year of his deal would be frozen and then restarted for 2018.
Well after all is said and done the fact is the NFL missed on Case and it cost him millions of dollars. There is no doubt now that he should have been drafted and not on the practice squads of the Texans and Rams. I don’t know why or who is to blame for that but the local media to me had a big part in it.
Be that as it may, the 6th year of eligibility that the NCAA gave him was an absolute gift. If he hadn’t got that, odds are he would have missed out on the NFL completely.
