Charity Exhibition vs Texas A&M, October 27th 4PM

I feel like CKS is getting real tired of questions about the back end of the bench.

These guys that constantly get their heads bashed for asking the same questions - why keep doing it? Try a different approach or something.

None of the final four teams were this deep with talent

There’s a lot to be excited about with this squad. If they can just stay away from a word that begins with I.

Ramon after he hit the transition 3pt. Happy for the guy.

Faced adversity & preserved

Thank you.

Ill clip some things i liked:

Uzan pass

Uzan hits a 3pt

Jojo showed several times, he was comfortable guarding on the perimeter. Meaning you can switch pick & rolls & not be very worried about mismatches

The depth and the defense is second to none, but what impressed me the most was Uzan’s shot creation off the dribble. He looks so smooth with the ball in his hands. Reminds me of a combo of Mills and Mark. He is absolutely going to be one of the three best guys on offense this year.

Is Mercy a bigger stronger potentially better version of Marcus Sasser?

My hot take. Our best offensive player wears number 25.

Cenac is already a Coog if mom isn’t driving the bus, unfortunately, she is.

I still expecting Flemings at any moment.

Alright guys, I don’t normally do this but I am going to jump on the bandwagon.

The defense is going to be a major problem for our opponents. A couple break downs here and there but for the most part A&M was only getting the tough shots. I think the team took Sampson’s comments on how the Aggies are a better offensive rebounding team to heart. We dominated this area on both ends.

As for the individuals

No more adjustment period for Cryer and Sharp, they are locked, loaded and ready to go.

Uzan is going to fit in to what we do and even add some elements we haven’t had from our PG. His ability to get in the paint and still score over the top. His shot, btw, looks fine and confident. Looking forward to see his development.

J’Wan is an AA candidate and should get consideration for B12 DPOTY if they are paying attention.

Jojo may be the best offensive rebounder in the conference. Offensively looks more fluid though we was a little too hyped up and strong on some of his looks today.

TA had me saying uh ohhh a few times. Looking confident making a couple early threes. Another WOW moment with an athletic finish at the rim and later a hesitation jumper on the baseline.

I will say this again but this team has 7 starters.

As for the rest of the bench this such a great problem to have.

Ramon was making Ramon plays with a couple of threes, one being contested, that both barely rippled the net. I can see us playing some small ball just to get him some more time.

Wilson is going to be tough to keep off the floor. He does a good job as our backup point, knows how to distribute, can score when pressed to do so and can play defense/rebound. At this point I am not sure how we don’t play him.

Then there is Mercy. He had a few welcome to D1 moments but also flashed some of what we can be very excited about in the near future. He can score from anywhere hitting some threes and flushing at the bucket. They trapped him one possession taking it from him for a layup. I loved how he turned the tables the next time by beating the trap for a flush. It will be a learning process but he will play.

McFarland I think this is a getting his feet wet season. He may not be strong yet, but there are times he needs to play stronger. I do need to keep perspective on who he was matched up with this game. A&M has some big boys who aren’t afraid to push.

All in all, great fan support and crowd for the game. I think our fans are juiced for the season to start.

That was a serious beatdown. So enjoyable.

RW we had the same thought about this team having 7 starters. TA looked so much better than I expected preseason. Ill continue to pray for good health but this really looks like a special team.

Continue to be very impressed with J’Wan’s scoring inside. The hook he developed, along with the touch he has now, will be huge this season.

Next year’s starting 5 could be:

Flemings
Miller
Harwell
Cenac/Clark
MacFarland

Mix and match as you like but that’s nuts.
