First UH freshman to have a double double in his debut since George Williams back in 1999.

They are calling him big snacks lol, off of the pronunciation of his name Cenac, snacks

I’ve been pronouncing it as See-Nack. Noted.

Yep… expect a huge season from him.

I’d like to see him post up some. Every 6’11 guy needs some post moves.

Main thing is to stay healthy. If we go into March without him or JoJo we’re done

Me too. I’ve been hearing it as Seh-NACK, and I immediately thought about snacks.

So far i am getting very Jarace Walker vibes. Not a bad thing. You see the talent, the physical skill set that is unique for someone that size, and the high basketball IQ. On the other side of that, how many times did we think Walker
should take over games. Seeing that potential makes you wish for more

I suspect as the season progresses we will be seeing more from him. He is still a freshman with one game in the books. Just let CKS bring him along as he wishes.

Not as strong as Walker but a much purer shot. Cenac has great handles and will eventually be able to score inside or outside.
Much bigger upside than Walker IMO

Love Cenac’s outside game. Very pure shot. Looking forward to his offense with his back to the basket, making sure he took notes working with Hakeem.

IMHO, he is already ahead of Walker, at this point. I really enjoy watching his game. Was impressive in the scrimage and this past Monday night.

Yeah, I could easily see him as a top-5 pick in the draft. I never saw that kind of upside in JW.

If he proves the ability to play with strength inside, then he’ll get there. Even in the first game without really knowing what he’s doing, he looks like a dude that could dominate a game.

That’s the issue. If he’s gonna progress he needs to do it in one season. Lol
He could easily be gone at the end of March.

Nope, he’s sticking around until mid April.

You’re right… JWalk only had 8 pts, 12 boards his first game…

12 and 10 is way more dominant…

The ridiculous JWalk hate continues…

Cenac also has some added incentive in that he’s coming in alongside two other extremely talented freshmen, at least one of whom appears to be very competitive/vocal. Jarace started with Arceneaux (which sounds wrong to me for some reason?) and Lath. I don’t think he got as much push from his fellow freshmen as Cenac will.

WTF are you talking about?

My observation had nothing to do with the stats, and all I said was that I didn’t see JW as a “Top 5”. So he ultimately went 8th. Where’s the “hate”?

Back off the ledge, dude. :sunglasses:

What exactly has Snacks shown you in one game that clearly makes him a better talent than JWalk…?

He’s taller, his outside shot looked more fluid, he moved like a forward, and he played with confidence.

From an NBA standpoint, guys who are basically 7’ and can play the outside game and put the ball on the floor are high value. The only knock is that he may not be strong enough to play the inside game, where JW clearly had that build.

This isn’t hating on Jarace, and it’s weird that you’re taking it that way. I’m basically just saying that I think the Cenac hype was justified. JW didn’t come in with a top 5 projection, so why is it “hate” to say Cenac looked the part? Weird.

Show me a hate post on JWalk.

I said he was a project from day 1 and felt leaving early might stunt his growth. Is that hate from your perspective? I still believe that and hope he keeps growing and start attaching multiple good games together.
