We for some odd reason expect the team to go undefeated every season because every game is “winnable.” We lose a week 2-5 game and all of sudden it’s the end of the program
When will we learn. We feel entitled to greatness just because we’re in Houston. It doesn’t work that way. We escaped with close wins last season that could’ve easily been a 8-4 season by a play or two.
We lost to Tech in OT. It’s time to move on. Hopefully we correct our mistakes for Kansas.
We could have kicked that 1 for sure fg then we win. I was watching saying take the pts then we tried a pass that was dropped so that is on coaching.
However , your right , we’re over reacting generally.
The season isn’t lost and if we run the table and win the championship, it prob means a bcs bowl unless apple st or Marshall keeps winning but regardless, we can have a good season still.
I’m looking forward to the Kansas game, win or lose and I’m relaxing and acting like a p5 fan , just showing up regardless bc my attn and everyone else attending helps. Only 6 home games so we need to act like A&M etc and show up for the event. If we’re here for only wins then your gonna get frustrated and miss the big picture of supporting the team and millions are spent each yr on football so it’s the least we can do then longterm a fuller stadium helps everything.
It’s fine to overreact. We are still considered a G5 program. Fans are frustrated because going undefeated is the only way to reach a NY6 bowl or even attempt to crack a top 4 College playoff berth.
Losing how we did crushed any dream of a CFP berth and now we have to remain perfect to even be considered a G5 selection for a NY6 bowl.
With that being said, we can still have a very fun and successful season. Looking forward to Saturday’s game.
I admit I’m one of those fans, Unrealistic as it might be, These young men play there hearts out every game and lay it on the line, Best reward I feel for them is to be undefeated…Also give me chance to stick my chest out about how Mighty the Cougars are and how Cuddly they are.
On the for real they should be 2-0 so far this season.
When we lost to BYU with JOK it wasn’t the end of the world. Or when we lost to Oklahoma in Dana’s first game back. When we lose to Texas St., UTSA, or Tulane then yes, the world is ending.
Just recently, Texas Tech has been our first loss of the season in '17, '18, '21, and '22. It’s getting ridiculous that they have our number every year. They own us more than we own Rice. People are going to be upset about that.

Its going to happen every year. especially after early losses it was the end of the world last year but we did have a cupcake schedule following the tech game that helped our hopes and dreams. Just wait till we are in the Big 12 and we loose to a G5 or FCS…
Thanks for scaling the pedestal to enlighten us. I don’t think that most of us mind losing, but when the team and coaches display ongoing, inexcusable ineptitude then that is a problem.
So many extremes used to describe an overtime loss at a fired up opponent. We need to pull one fan out per game and let him coach a series. Call it the, “Groupon Fan Series sponsored by 4Loko.” You make a first down and you get Dana’s prorated salary for that game. You don’t and you get pelted by stale nachos and have to spend the rest of the night cleaning the pissers.
That’ll get the season ticket staff boot scootin’.
I personally always like the “will we be ranked” post weekly … In all seriousness, I miss the old mysterious black 8 ball post predictions and the back story with each one back in the Case days. They were truly entertaining.
