I respect Tommy Lloyd for turning down North Carolina. I’m guessing part of the decision was not to leave his team hanging at the FF. Loyalty and integrity is not in abundance in the coaching world.
He’s already at a basketball school… 
Few schools could keep their coach from being poached by UNC… Zona is one of them…

Tucson is a great place to live. It is only 180 miles from a great Mexican Beach Town, Puerto Penasco. 60 miles of white sand beaches.
Predict that Lloyd does a Lute Olsen and stays a very long time.

Tech is probably a better job for him quite frankly. Going to programs like Duke, UNC, Kentucky is often times a bad move

It’s not a better job for sure, but I’m not sure if Grant is the kind of guy that would fit in at UNC. If he won it wouldn’t matter of course.
Not sure if AZ alums would consider their school a “Basketball school”.
I figure AZ must have gave him unlimited power to do as he wishes. I doubt UNC was willing to go that far.
Yeah, I think guys that win will fit in. The Tech fans that are paying attention to this are puckered - the smoke is real.

I would think most AZ fans consider themselves a basketball school, they certainly aren’t a football school. The have like 2 top 10 finished in 100 years and 0 major bowl wins.

UH, KU, Zona, Iowa St.
Everyone else is a football school at the end of the day.
Arizona is 100% a hoops school. There were more students out partying after Elite Eight win than attend football games.
