Coach Sampson may well be contemplating retiring, and if does I don’t blame him one bit. It has been a great ride. I had the great ride with Guy V. Lewis and now Sampson, so I am a happy man no matter what.
However, I think the last remark by this Trilly frill pretty well sums of the context of the remark, much like the so called poster who is probably a Tee Tee or Arizona fan lol.
Saying Houston is in the market for a GM is simply stupid. Everyone knows Kellen will be taking over the program and if Coach calls it quits this year I think we will be in good hands.
And it certainly wouldn’t surprise me if Sampson has a permanent office close to Kellen’s in order to check in ever so often.
I have said it many times…enjoy the ride the while you can. We were extremely lucky to land Sampson and I think we are also lucky that his son in line for the job.
Popovich had to tell them he wasn’t interested and to leave him alone.
Just heard on radio that State received Wade’s resignation via email…
Scum.Bag.
And apparently it came from his agent. Not even from Will Wade himself. Dude is on par with Todd Graham.
They’re pushing for a guy that fits “the Carolina Way” but isn’t actually a Carolina basketball former player/assistant on sports talk here in NC…
It never ceases to amaze me how low SEC teams, and in particiular, LSU, will go.
Saw them both up close and personal in Milwaukee last year. Listened to Kentucky’s pregame postgame ISU content. They are something, that’s for sure.
Obviously they don’t “churn thru” coaches. More just not even the slightest bit of appreciation or understanding for anything less than total and constant sustained domination without the hint of a step back. That’s more the vibe.
NC State AD Boo Corrigan says he was surprised to get email from Will Wade’s agent on his resignation. Will Wade needs to learn professionalism along with ethical conduct.

That was just his comments at the press conference regurgitated
I am surprised a guardian wants their kid to play for this chum. I have heard and seen how Cougar players have learned from CKS more than just basketball. What will kids learn from wade.
Money talks
He had a good long run but UNI is just getting less feasible as a place to be able to do anything, unfortunately. Sad, but I understand this move.
I think a GM is the one in charge with the NIL finances and sponsorships. Not the one hiring a new coach in college like the NBA. Two different titles. If I’m wrong my apologies.
Here is my take. I given thought about UH needing a GM, to take some responsibility off Coach Sampson. Coach Sampson is so hands on, a GM would need to be someone who defers to Sampson on personnel, as in roster management, and financial decisions. At the very basic, its “UH has $$$ of dollars, now pay your existing players and go out and sign new players. You need to work within this budget.” A GM can be involved in fund raising, monitoring the market for players, and serving as a resource to Sampson, but Sampson has to run the show.
Looks like a job for Mrs. Sampson. ![]()
I coach with a guy who is a UNI grad and I’ve asked him what in the heck happened to their program? I know and understand they made it to The Dance this year but once upon a time in the heartland they were a mid major to contend with. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
