auburn just had a scrimmage vs furman… won by 20… we play auburn game #2, our 1st real game
despite the score, it was close for 75% of the game
the way the game was played portrays a huge advantage for us… auburn shot horrendously ( 4 for 22) auburn basically won becuase they are bigger and stronger… they had a +20 rebounding margin, most points were also point points
broome had dominant stat line with 18pts 14rbs … but it wasnt efficent (6-15) … interesting broome played the 4 for auburn not the 5… they are 6’10 and 6’11 at the 4 and 5
their 2 projected star guards were less than impressive combine for 9 pts total … denver jones 2 for 11, and jp pegues 1 for 4 … their 2 recruit freshmen guard did have passable games

I think a lot of these scores are being looked at as a reflection of how the season will go, and I don’t think that’s the case. Like Sampson, the ‘scrimmages’ will be used to gauge the progress of players and how the newbies fare against D1 competition. That’s why we keep hearing about certain players on teams not playing.
With that said, I predict a lot of fans will freak out if we lose today, despite Francis not playing and Milos wearing a mask while recovering from a broken nose.

That is a Duke team replacing a whole lot.
I mean, I think we all knew they were a bottom 2 team. But oof that’s some kind of beating. Honestly they only really made it in because of market, fan base, and travel partner for Arizona, they are only really good at baseball
