Coog Baseball Portal

6.41 ERA in 19 IP

And Yearwood from Texas St. with an 8.79 ERA in 14 IP.

So far we are losing the key players off the current UH team.

We have lost the three best HS recruits.

We have signed two pitchers out of the portal that were not good for their last team.

The only decent add is the catcher from Lamar.

Another key guy that Davis couldn’t keep. :man_facepalming:

For how much money?

We can’t use that as en excuse if we don’t have dollar values.

In - Cam Diaz from Lamar

Ok, so whichever guy said a pitcher from Lamar was coming is now vindicated.

Hopefully he can recover from injury.

Holmes, did you see he had TJ during the season?

Apparently he pitched three innings and then went down.

I’m guessing he gets a medical and then hopefully pitches in 28’.

I saw that. Again, hope he can recover.

I did see that he was set to be their Sunday starter and was injured in his first start.

OUT - Hector Arellano

Guys entering the portal from this team probably should be. We got last in the Big 12.

Xavier Perez, Riley Jackson, Blake Fields, Kendall Hoffman, and Connor Udland are all good players (or at least with potential to be good) that I wish were staying.

But when you make a change at the top because of a lack of success, there’s going to be a lot of upheaval.

Thanks to all, I’ll get the list updated !

As bad as we were last year, not surprised. Next year will be tough, but hopefully we have a new skipper who hasn’t checked out.

So far Wagoner is the only proven player added.

I’m more interested in seeing what HS kids they add for 28’.

I understand this will be a tough year. Hopefully we can do better than last year. Our new head coach is supposed to be good in the portal.

I know quite a few of the 2027 and hope some decent ones will swap over to UH and hope the 28 class will have key commits in August

The NM pitcher might be a decent prospect.

Was 6-2 last season in 21 appearances.

A pitcher’s record is the least valuable measurement to predict success.

He had a 6.10 RA9 and a WHIP of 1.441.

This was in a one-bid conference.

New Mexico finished with a #220 RPI to go with a SOS of #253 and a Non-Con SOS of #290.

Might want to dig deeper Law.
