Excellent news…thanks for all updates

I haven’t seen any portal additions besides Jake Wagoner but it’s very early

Ok, so he was a PWO in football.

I wonder if he will get some sort of scholarship in baseball.

I saw on Twitter that he hit a walk off homer to take them to the state title game.

Great prospect!

Then again, it is not certain, from this, that he’ll play baseball here. Would be great if he did.

Update. Burton WON the 2A Division 2 state title!

Todd didn’t recruit one player for three years. You would be lucky to have him actually go to someone’s game and that only happened if it was a local game. You were extremely blessed if you got 10 minutes with him on an official visit. The assistants did everything.

If a player plays two sports, the only sport that can offer him a scholarship is whichever one is played first. Therefore, he could only be on a football scholarship.

Who was the last football/baseball player? Stavinoha is the one that comes to mind but he transferred out before stepping on the diamond. Would’ve been great to add his bat to those 2002-2005 teams.

Before Stavinoha but…Dustin Carr was a baseball All-American. He was on the football roster for a year or two (1992 verified) but I don’t remember him getting any game action.

My recollection is that Stavinoha, here on a football scholarship, left UH because Dana Dimel was not going to let him continue to play baseball.

I got it. But that’s the whole point.

He doesn’t have a scholarship in football as a preferred walkon.

In theory, he might still get a baseball scholarship, but as I said, I haven’t seen anything to suggest that he actually plans to play that sport here.

If football doesn’t put him on scholarship then he can’t get a baseball scholarship.

One question though.

Suppose he doesn’t see the field or get any action in year one of football, but does get playing time in baseball.

Would that make baseball his first sport actually played, and make him eligible for a scholarship there?

Just curious.

I was really disappointed that Diego did not perform better in his time here.

I thought he might be good enough for a closer’s role but he never got close.
