We had a bad game yesterday, but our Coogs are still 7-2! After attending every home game last year and going 4-8, this year has been a success so far. Actually better than I expected.
I’m sure the players and coaches are going to reflect on this game and prepare for UCF.
Go Coogs! Win and take us to 8-2!

The higher the high the harder the fall, and we were riding real high after ASU and that made a lot of people forget where we actually are as a program. Then the triple whammy of playing like ass against an ass team with ass attendance broke the damn all the negativity from the last few years
This is the most important point after yesterday’s loss. We got beat and we immediately get back up on the horse. Anyone feeling sorry for themselves brings nothing to our football program. Our players thrive on the energy that we bring to them. In the days of instant gratification you have to understand that nobody gets “rich” in one season. Patience is a virtue and when we will win that National Championship you will look back on how much you waited for it. For a generation we waited to get back into a power conference. Very few thought this was even possible. We are again in a power conference. Let our players feel they have our support. Call a friend, an alum, a relative, a co worker and let them know you want to attend a Coog game with them. That we can do.
I’m fired up for Friday. I had a great time at the game even though we lost. Some big hits and some great catches. It wasn’t all bad. Get away from the ball if you’re not going to catch it!
As coach said, it’s hard to win any game when you are -4 on turnovers. I was expecting us to have s bad game, but I thought it would be UCF, not WVU.
I’m to the point I’ll flip a coin, heads we win, tales we lose. Maybe I should use my Magic 8 Ball instead. It’s been more accurate than my predictions.
It happens, but just goes to show we can’t take anyone for granted. After seeing WVU play the past few weeks I never thought in a million years yesterday would happen, especially after going out on the road and slaying Tech-slayer ASU.
It’s hard not to wonder what might have been if we had just taken care of business. But we didn’t, so now we just have to go out and not have any more mental lapses. We know what the team is capable of but they have to take every team on the schedule seriously or WVU will repeat itself.
It’s interesting that a lot of online people criticize that the Coogs play an easy schedule because of the bad teams we play but forget last year we were one those bad record teams.
100% THIS. I’ll also add that it affected the coaching staff too & showed up in the play calling. Coach Hester meant a lot to everyone in this program & I can’t imagine just how hard it was for those guys to focus on practice. Coaches are trying to create gameplans & make funeral arrangements @ the same time.
Meanwhile, the coaching carousel is in full swing. So not only does this entire program have to properly grieve Coach Hester, but leadership (BOR, Khator, Nuñez) & major donors (Tillman, Mattress Mack, Exxon, etc) have got to put together an aggressive contract extension for CWF.
Add in the fact that we flat out underestimated WVU & I’m not in the least bit shocked that we lost this game.
