Some of the over reactions on this board are simply pathetic. We did not play well. It happens to every program. What tipped the scale was our turn overs. It is as simple as that.
You also have to give credit to WV.
There is another point that is paramont. These are live games. When are you going to understant that NOTHING is guaranteed until you play and close out the game?
Video games are not real. Understand the difference now?

What has to get fixed is the run game. Not upset with the loss. You lose football games. I’m more concerned with why we struggled so mightily running against WVU.

Run game. From my observation, we just don’t have enough running backs that can contribute. They are either injured or limited in how much they can play and contribute. It is hard to lean on just one or 2 backs this late in the season. They get beat up as the season goes on and I’m not seeing new ones that are ready to step up. Depth is an issue as I see it. This may get worse as the season unfolds. Hope not.
I rewatched the game and it seemed like we moved the ball pretty well on the ground. We had some nice breakaway runs by Dean Connor.
However, when you give away the ball early on two drives and don’t even get an offensive possession on the punt return blunder, then you literally have over 3 drives for potential yards snuffed out. We got 3 fewer drives. They got four additional drives.
And apparently that bacon grease soaked ball cost us some big yardage losses as well forcing UH into passing more than we would like.

How’d that work out last time?
We had 80 yards rushing as a team. We didn’t run the ball well. You can’t win in the b12 running 20 yards a quarter.

We have three primary areas that we have to improve in the off season.
OL - Quality and depth
Corners - Exposed way too many times
DL - In our two losses we saw how much improvement we have to aim for
