Coogs in the Pros

I like the intagibles. Rebounding, assists.

But in the end, you gotta shoot. Thats how you survive in the NBA

29.4 FG % aint great. But alot of time to correct things

A real nice article, not about an ex-Coog, but one of Coach Sampson’s favorite players from his OU days – Eduardo Najera. Covers the story of how Coach recruited him.

ā€œSometimes you can look at a kid’s eyes and see all the way to Amsterdam,ā€ said Sampson, who now is the basketball coach at the University of Houston, where he’s helped the Cougars reach two Final Four appearances. ā€œBut when you look at Eduardo’s eyes, they were hungry eyes. He just had this body language, the way he looked at you. It told me two things: This kid was really hungry, but he also needed help.ā€

Shead with 8 assists in 17 minutes last night (one TO).

Galen Robinson Jr maybe playing overseas. Not on the Birmingham Squadron’s roster

Walker was 0-10 and 0-4 last night shooting. only 2 pts in 26 minutes…

what happened to the Pacers? they were in the finals last year and are only 1-11 this year

Tyrese Halliburton is hurt. That’s what happened.

Not only injured but won’t play this year. Pacers are gonna get a lottery pick to help him out.

Ouch. Walker needs to pick it up and progress beyond being ā€œa project.ā€ Those shooting numbers ain’t gonna cut it.

Walker is either in a bad shooting slump, or he’s hurt. He’s under 30% from the field and about 25% from 3pt.

He’s 13 for his last 59 shots, and he’s been 0-fer from 3 in more games than he’s made one in November. :poop:

His other numbers aren’t bad, but this has been a brutal stretch for him, and he’s getting a lot of minutes.

He shoots bad, rushed shots. I play fantasy basketball and drafted him late in both leagues. Waived him in both leagues early on. Then when Obi was injured, I picked him back up cuz he had a runway to minutes. But his rushed shot selection is horrible…and he’s worse in the paint trying to shoot. Waived a second time. I won’t be back. The Sunday night, 6 turnover game was my LAST straw.

Nate

Yep. I was surprised they weren’t doing more to get him going then I realized they’re in total tank mode right now.

I think they lost someone else in the off-season, too…

2026 NBA Mock draft just released.
Cenac, Flemings, and Tugler are on it.

Immanuel Quickley thoughts on Jamal Shead

Shead w/ 11pts & 9 assists tonight vs Brooklyn

If you extrapolate Shead’s stats over 36 minutes, he’d be averaging a double double
