Dan Hurley to Lakers?

True. 90% of the time they do. Plus hes making peanuts compared to Calipari.

There’s nothing like the NBA in basketball but recently with NIL, Transfer Portal & Realignment it makes the college game so much more fun that what it used to be. It keeps the game in the headlines year round it seems.

He would likely be the next coach Lebron fires. That being said, I’d still do it if I was Hurley. He would be set financially.

I agree 100%.

I don’t think the Angry Leprechaun routine is gonna fly with a room full of divas.

It would be a lot of fun to watch though.

Typical . UConn is going to be bent over on a new contract for Hurley

Sounds good.

I guess they are stuck in the Big East.

He has won back to back championships at UCONN, probably ready for another challenge and will make a lot more money and prestige

What would Sampson do IF the Lakers were after him with a big contract, he might take it, he definitely would think about it, the Lakers are a blue blood of the NBA

Who cares, it isn’t happening.

So much for J.J. Reddick’s interview with the Lakers. He was so impressive they immediately started recruiting a coach who has never been a head coach in the NBA. I guess that’s progress for the Lakers. Reddick has never been a head coach period. He knows basketball but your first head coaching job is with the Lakers?

If he were to go to the Lakers and get canned in a few years, do you actually think he would have a hard time getting another college job?

Wait a minute. This dude is in his 50s and his net worth is less than his annual salary??? Hopefully (for him) that net worth estimate is complete garbage. Otherwise, send that dude to a financial planner!

Billy Donavan won back to back at Florida and eventually joined the NBA and did a decent job with the OKC Thunder.

Hurley can do fine if he can get decent and consistent guards to complement AD.

Based on this tweet, this is real. Only a matter of time, and the numbers.

The one thing NBA coaches get that college coaches don’t is an actual offseason. The calendar and workload for college coaches is insane right now. The portal and NIL can be headaches along with re-recruiting your team.

No but why subject yourself to the whims of a ā€˜star’ player or 2, fickle ownership, and/or a fanbase whom you carry no cache with? That Lakers roster is middling at best and in no universe close to winning a title. Like I said, if you do it, you do it for the $ because it takes you from rich to RICH. If he fails in the NBA then goes back to another college team the chances that he recreates the dominance of the last couple years at UConn and endears himself to that new fanbase is low that much is certain.

I don’t think that is remotely accurate. Every big coaching search fans are clamoring for Billy Donovan. Pitino had zero problems getting a top-notch job. Hurley would immediately be the # 1 coach sought after by any program with an opening

then why are they looking for a new coach?
