UH is picked 11th out of 14 in the Big 12 and 8th out of 13 among Texas schools. UTSA Is picked 3rd, Texas 1st. Patrick Paul is 1st Team All Texas Team, Nelson Caesar 2nd team. Our offensive MVP is Matthew Golden; Hasaan Hypolite is defensive MVP.

Here is their projected starting lineup. Offense looks about right (WV transfer Mathis might start at RB), but I think they’re making a few mistakes with the defense.

Offensive starters:
WR Sam Brown
WR Joseph Manjack
WR Matthew Golden
TE Matt Byrnes
LT Patrick Paul
LG Tyler Johnson
OC Jack Freeman
RG Tank Jenkins
RT Ruben Unije
QB Donovan Smith
RB Stacy Sneed

I was especially surprised that Zykeius Strong is starting at DE over Ogwoegbu.

Defensive starters:
DE Zykeius Strong
DT Sedrick Williams
NT Chidozie Nwanko
DE Nelson Caesar
WLB Malik Robinson
MLB Trimarcus Cheeks
SLB Hasaan Hypolite
CB Alex Hogan
CB Jalen Emery
BS Antonio Brooks
FS Adari Haulcy

Where is the WVU transfer TE on the depth chart?

No depth chart this year. They only list projected staters.

Boy, COVID, NIL and the transfer portal have really done a number on me.

COVID taught me I can live without it. NIL has turned me completely off, as I can see that even in the Big 12 we can never compete with the SEC and Big 10 schools for the top players in football. And the transfer portal has made it all but impossible to follow recruiting anymore.

I have no idea who a lot of these guys are. I’ll show up and cheer them on unless it turns out we suck. Then I’ll play golf instead as it’s getting harder and harder to care about the team when I don’t know who the players are.

We just flipped a LB from LSU…

Its all good man. I think he just read us the definition of a t-shirt fan😂. We will see him again in 3 years when we are competing for big 12 championships

Now there’s a definition of a fair weather fan for you.

At this point I don’t know how we stack up.

We could’ve easily be a 1-2 loss team last year had a single touchdown gone our way, but we also could’ve gone the other way. We had like 3 overtime games, and majority of all the games were within a single touchdown

I’m feeling the same, Covid showed a lot of people we can live without sports it was very eye opening for me lol

COVID just showed me that I don’t need to obsess over it. I’ll show up to games, I’ll donate to the school but making sports your life is unhealthy.

Kinda taught me the value of being outside more often.

no way to really know starters until summer camp is over and season is ready to go…When we see a lineup then, it will be more accurate…lots of good players, lots of transfers, lot of competition…

I’ve been a season ticket holder since 1991. I was one of the few who attended the games during the lean Alvin Brooks and Kim Helton years. I was at the freezing Louisville football game in 2000. You know, the one with the announced crowd of 3,000. I’m literally the opposite of a “fair weather” fan.

I guess I am just kind of burned out.

I am excited about the Big 12. But I also feel like I’ve done my time. That it’s time for other people to step up and take the wheel.

Lots of sad sacks on this thread. I’ve attended games since 1967 and will continue to do so.

On the eve of P5 you got “burned out?”

Not sure I get it. That’s literally the ONE time to get PSYCHED UP!!!

I didnt say you were a t shirt fan. Thank you for supporting the school during some of its darkest years. I said the actions you just laid out are that of a t-shirt fan. And nothing wrong with that btw. Gonna need a lot of those to start filling out TDECU

If it helps, I’m psyched for basketball. My comments above relate to football.

There’s no P5 in basketball.

The eve of P5 is the time to be psyched up about FOOTBALL.

I have an Aggie client who retired to the Traditions GC. He said to me the same thing that Chicklets said

I can understand him retiring. aTm has been P5 for awhile.

But we haven’t.

This is the time to be PSYCHED UP…NOT “burned out.”

I was at that Louisville game. Sat there wet. I feel the same way. I went to a game in 1997 as a second year student. Day game in old Robertson. We lose to Pittsburg. It was a 2 pm kickoff and the student section was the last section on the left of the visitors sideline. Student section had every row from the bottom to the top. I was the only one there for the first quarter. I paid my dues.

I just have a hard time getting pumped for it anymore. Lucy and her football just got me too many times.
