Agreed.
He looks pissed and embarrassed at the same time.
Agreed.
He looks pissed and embarrassed at the same time.
He’ll have a hard time poaching them
The look he has had this entire season except when body surfing
I bet this has been brewing for a while, me thinks the Barbay buyout comes from the Wood contract buyout. The way it went down, not announcing until after all the signing was done on signing day, tells me there was mutual respect and it probably was and has been strictly a money issue.
When does our Big 12 money start kicking in?
The Big 12 full share kicks in at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Being poor sucks. If we had the passion of Tech’s mega boosters, we’d be in a much better spot. They paid a softball player 1 million for f*cks sake!
Fritz, trying to hide that he’s actually happy the guy left
I don’t think he’s happy, but I also don’t think he believes it’s really going to hurt him next year either.
lol the ONLY bright spot from this season was our defense. You’re kidding yourself if you don’t think CWF is mad about losing Wood
His track record shows that he made $120,000 five years ago. Should he have stayed at Wofford? Georgia State? Or at Troy? Tulane? There is no loyalty from coaches or schools.
When the school president tells you to curb spending, you have to do it. In the last year, UH has fired a football coach, his staff, an AD, and the OC. Donations are flat, ticket sales are down, and UH is still a long way to paying for the new football facility.
Sometimes there are tough choices.
I think it’s telling that zero recruits followed him to TT. I don’t think any coaches will either. Every guy on the defensive side of the ball has closer ties to CWF or Houston than they do to Shiel Wood, except for James Ross.
Lol. It’s still early. The guy just got hired today.
I’m just reacting to his reaction and comments. He ain’t worried about it.
Maybe Tech will buy some of our players. That’s the game now. But other than interior D linemen who are you worried about.
Plus we just signed our best recruiting class, so I’m not worried about our future
I think we’ll get a good, if not great, defensive coordinator. I think Fritz has historically had a defensive mindset (he was Defensive Back at Pittsburg State from 1978-81).
Why should anyone be surprised? We struggle with NIL donations. This is an extension of the same issue. Not enough alumni who care to financially support the program. If you are reading this, chances are I’m not referring to you.
wasn’t scared about any recruits flipping 24hrs before signing day, I am WAY more worried about current players following him before next season.
Good idea, we can hire Monceaux to translate what he says for the players and fans.
