Divisions?

If the 16-team Big 12 were to add divisions, would you be in favor of it, and if so, how would you organize them?

It would most likely be East/West and yes

I think they most likely go the SEC route of 4 team pods.

The trick is that somebody is going to have to buddy up with UCF, Cinci, and WVU… and that somebody is gonna be UH or Iowa State :grimacing:

My map is a little off, osu to the west division

I think the 9:7 balance fits the format perfectly

Great Plains and East

That honestly sounds great but I don’t know if the Buffs go for it. I also think that the East and Plains schools will want to spend time in TX.

That’s a 9:7 distribution. Gotta move somebody East.

Swear to goodness! I wanna split UH and tech west because houston astros is already in that market heavy. Let TCU and Baylor go east

I would move Baylor or Houston east

If the B12 actually takes both ASU and UU this is how I would align the divisions which would help old rivalries and be the most equitable as far as travel is concerned.

Southwest:
Arizona
Arizona State
Baylor
BYU
Houston
TCU
Texas Tech
Utah

Central:
Cincinnati
Central Florida
Colorado
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Oklahoma State
West Virginia

If only Arizona is admitted to the B12, I would align them lie this.

Southwest:
Arizona
Baylor
BYU
Colorado
Houston
TCU
Texas Tech

Central:
Cincinnati
Central Florida
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Oklahoma State
West Virginia

Keep the TX schools in ONE division, however you break them up.

4 corners and are all in Mtn or Pac time zone keep them together
Tech just as well could be in the desert with Arizona
TCU lots of Tech fans in DFW keep them together
Baylor out will want to stay with Tech and TCU

Houston, OSU, ISU, Kansas, K State, WVU, UCF and CInci all in the East.

We are not going to divisions or pods. Everyone would have a set number of permanent rivals played annually and rotate regularly through the rest of the conference. Top 2 finishers get to the Champ Game.

Im with law, you split them up

Pods are effectively ‘protected rivalries’.
