Donovan Smith is a good QB

Looking at our 2 deep we will have a ton of returning talent for 2024.

Smith has come into his own during October.

We are competitive. Smith is going to make the plays that win games. Starting with K State.

With Smith’s development and looking like the #1 QB for 2024, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some backups transfer.

Is the current expectation that Donovan will be back next year?

As in he’s going to declare for the NFL Draft?

Of course one would expect him back next year. NFL people want a longer history than Smith has.

The problem isn’t the QB, it’s the D.

Giving up 28 points in the 1st half vs Rice.

Giving up 21 points in the 1st half vs UT.

Our O isn’t perfect, but they are competitive.

The D continues to dig deep holes that the O can’t overcome.

I didn’t know he played 1 on 11 as well as defense by himself.

If Smith was on another team we’d want him because the personnel behind him now ain’t up to his level.

Bingo! however, stating the obvious will get you a nasty reply.

Nope. He’s not erratic at all. He has good accuracy when he’s set and is inaccurate on the move.

To me he seems to be more accurate running to his left than to his right which is not the norm.

For some of you writing that our OL has been playing great this game proves it again that they are far from it. Every game is won at the line of scrimmage. This is valid for offense and defense. Until we are solid on both sides of the line it will be problematic for us to compete. This is on CDH to recruit players that can make compete regularly. He has not done it in the AAC and still has not done getting to the BIG12 and into the BIG12. This is a huge part of his job. He is failing at it and has for many seasons now.
