Yeah, I agree. I’d love to see them continue to improve and carve out a big role, but it really depends on who we pick up.
We can’t forget Damien Dunn was good enough to start too; not saying they aren’t better than Dunn, but just food for thought

Braden East will be here this weekend.
Thanks for the update
Braden East, another Houston kid (Stafford high school).
I want to see K.J. Jefferson do well this coming season. He has been in the program two years. Time to make the jump from practice player to meaningful contributor. He is returning to UH, so he appears ready to make the jump.
I told yall this was done on Monday lol I know yall only like to listen to certain folks on here
I would like to see a smallish point guard that can drive drive drive.
He needs to stay healthy.
He had surgery on both wrists before his freshman year in 2023-24. He was still recovering from that and trying build up some strength and bulk during 2024-25. And then last year’s knee thing.
If we sign the 3 guys visiting this weekend we would be at 10 scholarship players.
Assuming that Sampson will want 13 to 14 who, then, will be our targets?

If we can sign the top three players visiting this weekend I really would love to see the staff bring in one more shooter, preferably a wing in the 6’5”-6’7” range. Jackson could very well be that guy but he’s an unknown factor at this point.
I know stars isn’t everything but 247 is really low on East and Gillespie. Any reason why? Also saw Victoryous Miller is in the portal, would be pretty cool to unite cousins on the same team although I haven’t seen any links
Damn… on both wrists… that’s crazy!
Why?
Fwiw, Gillespie was an 3-star prospect out of H.S. and he improved every year at Kent State. Last season he averaged 19.5 ppg, 12.8 boards. and 1.6 blocks while shooting 60.8% from the field. The only player in college basketball that averaged more rebounds last year was Carlos Boozer. Gillespie was a double-double machine.
I watched some Delrecco in Kent St’s conference tourney semis vs Akron. He didn’t have a great shooting game but pulled down double digit boards. Didn’t see much at first but late in the game showed impressive quickness on some drives. Also see a lot of dawg in him powering in for a shot and following up his own miss.
Sidenote. There was this other guy #2 that was a poor man’s Kenneth Lofton Jr.
it’s not like they’re coming from vcu or sdsu level mid major programs which probably tanks their score but just gonna have to trust coach on them ![]()
Why do I imagine CKS posting on his social media the entire thank you letter on behalf of Kingston “he’s very appreciative of what we’ve done and Coog nation. With that being said he’s declaring for the draft”
LMAO
Both were broken from separate incidents before he arrived on campus, I believe.
