I don’t know how all of the previous AD’s we have had engaged with these kinds of things, but I have really been impressed with the job Eddie is doing and how open he is to the fans and being as transparent as he possibly can be.

It would have been nice if they asked how he came to the decision to hire the baseball coach.

So blue is here to stay…

Had a conversation with him when he first arrived and he advocated about how present he wants to be to both students and the media. He’s holding his word.

You forgot your question mark. F that blue CURSED shite!

Cool beans on the info. My wish is to go back to natural grass. Maybe we can with full shares. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

If any jersey is cursed it’s the white PSJs we had on when we lost to NC State…

Nunez says in the interview that UH has set records last year for licensing and merchandising, and will set another record for this year. He said the growth that is UH is experiencing in merchandise sales is the largest of any Texas schools.

I am a traditionalist, but UH has to try and maximize all sources of revenue to close the gap from being outside a major conference for thirty years. You can’t ignore the additional money that merchandising is bringing in.

Two games a season, football and basketball, to wear Houston Blue? I am okay with it. BTW, I thought there was a lot of Houston Blue in the stands at the last Houston Blue football game.

Say it again LOUDER for those in the back…

It’s even bigger than that, UH as a Follet store (at some point) had the largest growth over a lot of schools, not just within Texas… I think it was either in the B12 or in their entire region/department (which included schools across state lines and beyond).

Is this somehow related to the baseball coach?

Considering all the irons we have in the fire I would have to think football and hoops are driving us right now.
And considering our choices I believe we did just fine selecting our baseball coach.

I don’t follow college baseball close enough to know… I know most folks that do wanted Sean Anderson I believe…

But Will Davis seems like a fine hire… I think the complaint was more about not doing full diligence in the search… but if you’ve got your guy then you’ve got your guy…

Edit: I may have the wrong name for Anderson… like I said not a huge college baseball guy… just the Coogs for baseball.

Confirmed I was wrong… it’s Sean Allen… thanks @uhlaw97

I am looking forward to making the 13 mile drive from my house to the university to catch h a few games this coming season. I have not been to a full game in two years. We don’t have to win the first year, we just have to be competitive. Baseball under CTW had become unwatchable.

Sean Allen.

Yeah, a lot of people on the baseball board were pissed. Not sure why. The guy has never been a HC, much less one to make the NCAAs. But whatever.

Ironically, he ended up taking Will Davis’ old job at Lamar.

That’s a great opinion…

Just not one that will come to fruition… HOUSTON BLUE IS HERE TO STAY!

I get it, but those are state flagships with huge fan bases within their state. To compare their financial situation to UH, which drives UH’s need to increase merch sales, is apples to oranges. If UH’s AD ignored potential new revenue streams using color variations, he would be underperforming in one of his key job performance objectives.

All of those schools have 100k fans in attendance every week and have been in the money way longer than we have. I respect traditionalism, but UH has to take advantage of every monetary opportunity we can until we find a way to get more fans and build a much more loyal fan base.
