Negative! He was pressing for an extension and WVU was saying NO.

Uncle Dave would have put up with the unhinged, Joe Dirt act for about a nanosecond.

You are confusing corporate tailgating with real tailgating. The real tailgating is taking place out in the parking lots, not next to the stadium. I started tailgating in the parking lot back when we played in the Dome. I would still be out in the parking lots if I could but now I just go to the AALM tailgate for an hour or so.

The outer facade had nothing to do with air flow.

The metal panels are inexpensive building facade materials

If he was the best, why were we thrown under the bus in 96? Could he not see the slush money rolling in by just mortgage the farm for a new stadium? Just saying! CottonCoog '68 '75

Sorry Dude but the perforated panels have everything to do with air flow. I was at Texas Tech and the brick exterior of that stadium severely restricted air flow.

Because in 96 he had not been the AD for 17 years. He got us into the SWC and did great with almost nothing.

Gentlemen, gentlemen. Can we all all agree that Tom Ford was the absolute worst AD in UH history?

It does allow air flow. I felt air flowing lol.

We could easily brick it in so I don’t care. I do like it the way it is bc we’re unique. We have a great solid stadium for reduced costs. Ucf’s stadium is the bad one I heard which is a swaying erector set cheap.

Texas A&M’s North Endzone uses the same mesh, except it is while and maroon

A&M ‘s stadium is huge but it looks strange bc it goes way up. LSU’s stadium and ours looks better. I like the more bowl look. A$M ‘s just goes way up and looks weird.

Yeah, that’s what happens when you do an add on renovation vs total rebuild. LSU started with a better stadium. LSUs stadium has issues also, the first 10 rows in the bottom of the stadium you have to stand up to see the game as they start at field level

Good pts. I’ve been to lsu’s stadium and just passed by A&M’s and went inside once but even inside the concourse without an A&M game, it looked very strange. I’m thinking if we add on ours will be ok. It’s like A&M just wanted more seats and went erector set sky high.

Also there are diminishing returns for huge stadiums. If your way up high, the players look like dots where as in a 40 to 50k seat stadium, all seats are mostly good which is what we have or will do even expanding some if needed.

I grew up going to LSU games when it held 65K. I went to the 3 games we played there in the 90s and they were undergoing an expansion at that time. I liked the 65K stadium best.

I was in the stadium when Lsu beat ND around 1986 or so when holtzs was nd’s coach. Lsu back then was generally a 9 and 3 type team. It wasn’t till saban that Lsu really moved up and now the expectations are really too high so it’s fire this coach right away if he can’t win a nat championship.

I was in the stadium when LSU beat ND in 1971 with Bert Jones leading the Tigers to a 28-8 win.
