Enough already with the CDH non sense

Is it CDH fault or his system if D’Eriq has not been able to read defenses this season?
Is it CDH fault or his system if D’Eriq can’t throw good consistent passes to his wide open receivers?
Is it CDH fault or his system if D’Eriq Dad’s came out “swinging” like he did?
In many other programs D’Eriq starter status would have been questioned. Why should it be different with us? As good as a player can be one season it does not guarantee that he/she will confirm the next season.
Remember friends, HC’s and players are not bigger than the program. Today was a rotten d day. One way or the other we will better off.

I’m with you on that. Whenever a new coach takes over, it’s always “everyone starts out on even footing.” I think that due to the situation with Tune and the fact that King is the locker room leader, CDH knew it would be foolish to try and sit him. However, he hasn’t been playing all that good and maybe CDH isn’t really upset he is doing this. And, you can call it what you will, but I really don’t see DK coming back next fall, Corbin either. I could be all wrong, I have been before; regardless, my focus is on Tune now.

Good points Mike. As far as the locker room you always have fractions. I am actually not so sure that he was the locker room leader. Playing at a much lower level than last season surely opened up divisions. I am with you. Unless he is not fully healthy (which could explain everything) I believe he is gone. The “I am coming back next year” imo is to appease any doubts that some recruits may have.

I concur with my ole “water towers counting to Norman” friend …

I don’t see DK coming back or ever playing in an UH uniform again …

A compromise was probably reached to “save face” for both sides and so that neither will be embarrassed …

Come hell or high water … Tune IS NOW OUR QB … Holgerson likes him and sees potential in him … Applesauce and Kendal did not and since we have now observed Kyle Allen’s emergence as a productive NFL panther … it would seem Applesauce’s teaching techniques left MUCH TO BE DESIRED when Kyle took the field as a coog QB …

Do y’all really think he is going to go to new system and restart… AGAIN? It’s clear he feels cheated out of his freshman year. He was promised he would come here to play QB and played WR in year one. Our defense, is not very good and CDH probably has been dropping hints about RS’ing. It’s not an easy decision, but he’s right.

We all get to a point in our careers (at this point for him it is his career) that you take a look around you and make a decision that’s best for you and your family. He already took one for the team his freshman year and played WR despite what was promised so he is simply taking one for himself. Hard, but WWYD? This whole loyalty thing is fun to write about, but you all know that when it comes to your career and how you put food on the table, that can only get you so far. Leave that stuff in the movies.

I strongly believe he’ll come back. Corbin is up in the air, but #4 he is. Same system, better schedule, better defense next year .

Writing was on the wall. Many of us here even said it is a wasted year for #4. Now that things played out that way we want to bash him. That doesn’t seem right. Herman was a millionaire coach who lied to our faces. #4 is NOT getting paid millions and has worn the colors proud. He’s using what’s available to him. Until proven otherwise, I’ll support him.

This was a strategic decision by both parties I think. And one with mutual benefit.

I really don’t either. I’ve seen this kind of thing in the business world, and those “safety” strings usually always get severed after a few months when things cool down. He’s a good kid and I wish him the best.

I also could all be wrong.

Seems like we would have a better chance of landing a guy like Hornsby if King were not at UH next year. Saying he’s coming back to save recruiting doesn’t sound right.

I’m with you on this one. I think he stays here. Tune will red shirt as well albeit he will play 4 games I think and young Hoglo will play 3 more. Ike the walk-on will play one, UConn, I hope.

What if he plans to transfer to wherever Briles is OC or HC next season? That would be familiar territory and one that yielded a ton of TDs even though he missed games with an injury.

I could see that as long as it’s not FSU. That program worse issues than red-shirting seniors.

I would imagine Hornsby is redshirting next year no matter what King does. CDH is emphatically on the record about not wanting to play true freshmen. Tune is the one I would worry about losing if King stays and Hornsby comes.

Briles is not the answer and for a player to follow him around would be a disaster. He ran an offense here that was counterproductive to having a good defense and he is doing pretty much the same thing at FSU.
An OC can’t just run an offense without considering the entire picture which includes the defense

Agree. I doubt we ever see King on the field in a UH jersey ever. He’s gone. The compromise angle makes sense too. Sometimes leaving is best for everyone, this is likely the case here. Or, it seems that way from the outside.

I doubt we see King in a UH uniform again also. That’s fine. He is a grown man. He needs to do whatever he thinks is best.
He could very easily end up with Brikes again though. Especially if his goal is to put up stats as an offensive juggernaut. Not that I think he will be an NFL QB, but the NFL will not care much what the team record is. It will be ALL about the next individual performance.
Looking forward to how the team develops over the remainder of the year. Go Coogs!

Yep…I’m looking forward to seeing the next star develop. It’s usually during upheaval that hotshots are born.

See Steward, Lubojasky, and McGraw…

Hunnid percent. What a big splash he would make if he commits to UH along with his superstar receiver. Hornsby would benefit with red shirting. Then taking over the reigns in 2021. I think that’s one of the reasons King red shirted. UH might not have the predecessor to King in the roster right now. Things weren’t looking rosy next season either without King :crown: unless Tune surprise us. The defense was going to look great on paper but the offense without a dynamic play caller was going to be tough.

I think Dana would play true freshman though if it’s a running back or if it’s an elite recruit like Ed Oliver.

That’s only if Briles is still with Forida St tho. Guy moves around fast. Plus Willie Taggart has been on the hot seat for a while now.

That is why everyone has to get a grasp on. Many make assumptions before knowing any intimate facts. You either trust CDH or not. Clayton is our leader today. We should no longer hear from D’Eriq regarding his red shirting. The moment he does so he undermines THE TEAM.

Exactly! King is out, Tune is in!
