Everybody clap your hands

Parking was way better from the blue lot. Easy exit

My only complaint about tonight is I only heard “Clap Your Hands” once all night. Very disappointing. The win is nice, but doesn’t outweigh my disappointment.

I was going to count how many times they played it after all the complaints last game. I only remember hearing it once. I’m glad it wasn’t just me who noticed that.

Her voice drove me crazy. I could rarely understand she said because her voice was pitched so high. Few, if any, female sports announcers project enough to make listening a pleasure.

On “clap your hands”, it always reminds me of the BIG E. To me, it sounds like his voice . . . . .

She’s much better to look at though lol. I can’t hardly ever understand anything coming out of the speakers, the sound system is bad. I can understand the game announcer man though his sound is clear, whose ball, for three for three and players names etc etc

Chinedu just lacks the cadence. Even that one big dude who covered for him in the football game had a better cadence. Chinedu is awkward and corny to me. A lot of folks like that but I am not one of them.

I’m Team Chinedu all the way.

I’m also Team Corny in general. As a father, it’s my duty.

That dude was the basketball PA announcer. :grinning:

That explains a lot.

(High fiving myself right now)

Chinedu’s awesome. That’s a tough job, even when the stands are full. But he always puts in 100% effort regardless.

Lauren is the host at the Rockets’ game this season.

Chinedu does put a lot of effort into everything, even stuff that isn’t inherently compelling. But if our basketball team wasn’t great, his relentless, faux enthusiasm would wear thin pretty quickly.

[Trigger Warning. What I’m about to write may give some of my fellow old-timers flashback PTSD.] While Chinedu may not be “the best” at in-game announcing, he is far, far better than Hofheinz Pavilion’s The Guy With The Mic, which is to say the very worst ever at UH.

I think Chinedu does a solid job, I also miss the trashcan guy.

Geez! We aren’t voting for the Academy Awards. Chinedu has maybe a minute to get his spot over. Get in and get out without any flubs, and ability to ad lib if the contestant does something unscripted. Have enthusiasm for the contestant. Just be yourself and be likeable. I think Chinedu checks all the boxes.

Lauren is also in those corny River Oaks car commercials with the old white guy kung fu-ing everything.

Trashcan guy was great. I seem to remember seeing that CKS didn’t like the idea? Could be making that up though.

Trashcan guy lasted from the last three to five games in 2019 until the end of the 19-20 season. CKS, if not him then the admins didn’t really like it, but there were also complaints from the conference (AAC) at the time, and sometimes we were game to game on whether or not it was happening because a representative from the NCAA would be there and they might not like it either.

I was in that trashcan quite a bit. I didn’t want to do it anymore, either. But boy was it a lot of fun haha

@strakerak - can we get the students to raise the COOGS sing facing the camera and not facing the court?

It would look better on TV- is this something you can bring up?
