Not directed at you H-Town but who cares?

See the message above the one you quoted. There is a legitimate concern that if the Tech game doesn’t go well, attendance will suffer. There is a 2:1 chance we lose this game per the prognosticators, so some people care.

That prediction has changed quite a bit. It used to be a toss up. So I wonder what new info has caused the change.

ESPN today has TT a 2 point favorite, O/U at 69 points. That’s a toss-up.

I haven’t bet on a football game since we lost to Rice in 2004 but I wouldn’t touch this game with a 10 ft. pole.

There are too many unknowns after last year.

Betting takes the fun out of it. Maybe it’s just me but sports are supposed to be fun and bragging rights. Risking $$$$ is not fun to me; never really was, just wanted to look cool :sunglasses:. Obviously, I don’t worry about looks anymore.

Wondering if it’s because of the new QB Tyler Shough. He’s moving up in the preseason rankings and on a lot of radars.

That is not the point H-Town. Why even think that we will lose? You never enter a game or competition that you are going to lose. Every game that you play is a chapter in itself.
We give 100% into THATgame. You play to not have regrets. These are cliches but these are cliches that will make a difference.
Good players become great and stay great because of the efforts they put in. Giena that is the only message we can give to the entire squad. Give everything that you have, play with no regrets and enjoy yourself. We are all behind you.

Agree, if you go into a game thinking you will lose, you already have. We all know, and for heaven’s sake the team certainly knows, that we need to win this opening game. Players don’t pay attention to what polls say or percentages on who will win. It’s a distraction. Polls and percentages are an opinion and everyone has one.

I hate to be a downer but is it possible this game isn’t played or with little to no fans?

Good questions Butch. If the current situation continues to decline there could be attendance limits or possible game cancellations.

The game is on.

COVID is now merely infectious, not deadly. Look at stats Nationwide. Any death is tragic. But current death rates are not out of line with normal stats.

I have not been to a game in over 10 years. Will be at this one. With others who also have not been attending.

Attitude is contagious I feel supporting isn’t just showing up, it’s about us fans helping create a positive atmosphere of excitement & support for the team . Seem UH has a large sect of fans that come to games only to find something to complain about, second guess every call, and then throw negativity around to try and get others fans to sour on the team, the coaches, the band, the concessions, the parking, the traffic, the ticket prices etc. then we all wonder why we just can’t break through because gosh darn it we deserve it and we’re wronged 25 years ago.

After these last two years I am just looking forward to a game played under a normal or close to normal circumstances and conditions. If we can we will win.

What is UH’s record in Reliant?

I’m sure I’m missing some, but off the top of my head:

L’s - Miami, BYU, TCU, Oregon, Rice
W’s - Oklahoma, USF, SMU

Wazzu

Oof… That L to Rice… This should never happen.

It was even more painful to watch.
