Fellow Fans

Duke is an elitist school as I can’t understand how they have t shirt fans in basketball considering they wouldn’t deal with half of society on a daily basis

Auburn and Florida fans were great. Duke fans walked in and I got a feeling they felt very entitled when they told my friend to sit down during the game like they owned the stadium (and we did not sit down), were owed another National Championship and thought Flagg could not make a mistake (until he did when it counted!). Should be a great crowd and hopefully mostly UH fans!

I had an Auburn fan compliment the UH/Rockets for having Jabari Smith.

We had good results with fans. People are usually good. Just a few misfits.

Most negative interactions, ever and by far, was in 1982 and 1984.

Georgetown fans. Awful, snooty, condescending, etc.

Saturday no one was like Georgetown fans.

A group of Duke fans sitting next to me left with about 2 minutes left.

Talked to a random Florida fan at breakfast Saturday morning who was worried about playing Duke on Monday.

I actually saw a couple of Coog fans dip out with about 3-4 minutes left. I think they were going to catch an Uber.

Other than Duke fans, who doesn’t hate Duke? Just like other than UT fans, who doesn’t hate the whorns?

Just landed back in SA and heading downtown. Lots of gators on my flight from DFW. Sat across from a Duke fan. We all talked and many agreed UH deserves this natty most lol

Bumped into 2 Duke couples at 2M BBQ yesterday, long 1 hour plus wait in line. They were nice to talk to, 1 couple went to Duke and lived in the DMV area. The other couple lived in the Austin area. They all wished the Houston Cougars luck today. I said we may see them next year in Indy. The food was good, had brisket and pork ribs w/ Mac and cheese and coleslaw.

All the fans that I encountered from the other schools were friendly. That’s the way it should be. Go Coogs!

Row GG or HH? They were obnoxious but more pissed at UH fan that sold them the tickets

Yeah Ubers are not easy to come by that time of night.
We stayed because with 3 minutes left we thought the game was as over.and we wanted to cheer for the team for such a great season.
We were both in total shock at the end.
Our great comeback was one for the ages, and besides it helped make it almost bareable standing outside a mile from the stadium waiting for an uber!
Go Coogs, let’s get it done so Guy V can smile big from Heaven

All the Duke fans I encountered were cordial. Props to them.

These two Duke fans walked past us while we were waiting for a ride. They sounded drunk and were whining about the game. So I asked them if they had any Monday night tickets to sell us. They got pissed when I said that and called me a f@g. I busted out laughing and they got even madder. They walked off yelling sh!t while some other coog fans and us couldn’t stop laughing

Walking out of the alamodome I was talking to some 20 ish year old Duke fans. One of them said that they thought the fact that they were used to blowing teams out was a factor in how they finished the game. I agreed,

After the game a Duke kid cursed me out and said I’ll be serving him at Burger King because a group of fellow Coogs walking a few feet ahead of me got a little lippy with him and his friends. Otherwise, I’ve been trying to leave them alone.

All in all, people have been kind. Florida fans were rooting for us hard on Saturday. I think the vibe shifted a little yesterday, and I won’t care for them today lol.

We’ve completely mended fences with Auburn fans, which I didn’t quite see coming.

I really don’t dislike Duke, people just don’t like that they win. We win like this for the next decade and we will become the team fans love to hate.

I think people are rooting for the Coogs. The Longhorn board is mostly rooting for the Coogs.

I’m ambivalent about Duke except when we play them.
