Powers that be have blocked any article with the word Tr*mp ( ridiculous )in it on this site. Fertitta has been selected to be ambassador to Italy.
I don’t know how he would do that with everything else he’s involved in.
I think he’ll scale back and delegate. Despite Italy’s lack of economic strength in the world that post is a pretty big patriotic deal.
This would be perfect time for Dr Khator to find a sister Italian University ( with Fertitta assistance ) and create a student exchange program with them.
I’m sure he can but I just wonder if he really will be able to. Seems like it might go against his nature. Plus he’s been in acquisition mode this past year, seems like he’s not done.
How long before he breaks ground on Casino Golden Nugget d’Italia?
That’s cool and all, but I wonder what this means for us lol
You mean the Mafia?
I doubt he’s the first Mafia boss to be an ambassador.
I have to think this wasn’t just a dart throw by the president. He might have put his name out there in the circles that matter. But you’re right. Sitting around chatting and drinking espresso doesn’t fit his personality.
I’m curious. Is that something a lot of universities do? What’s the benefit to UH?
Permit me to flip the question what’s the benefit in not doing so and increasing the international visibility of UofH and educational collaboration with other great universities of the world that UofH aspires to be among
It’s an honest question. I wasn’t questioning you or your theory. I’m truly curious. I am completely ignorant about this concept. I couldn’t begin to compile a list of pros and cons of doing it or not doing it.
Hoping Fertitta negotiates the Catholic crown $$$ to UH NIL pipeline connection going
Whose to say this will have anything to do with UH?
The Casino Nuggetto d’Oro
If you think that’s all an ambassador does, well ok. Though there is likely a difference in how a career foreign service ambassador does things vs a political appointment ambassador. A few weeks ago I was looking at the list of ambassadors and it shows which were career, which were political appointments, and then some that were kinda both (political appointment with some foreign service type experience).
I was being facetious. Hence the clip from David Lynch.
For some reason the clip wasn’t loading before so it didn’t clue me in.
Your answer might be in the thread’s title. To make it public Tilman agreed to take the position. He made his fortune by delegating.
University of Palermo perhaps.
We still need to connect with either the University of Glasgow or Edinburgh since our University is named after the most famous Scot American family
