Fire Kevin Barbay

We hired someone’s nice grandfather to coach football. He has no courage or strength to fire anyone. He will give barbay as much time as he needs to improve and our football program will suck for years.
Barbay will be back and so will Bell (coaches the QBs).

Bring in Harrell… he is better than Barbay!

Poor oline
QB that has deer in the headlights when rushed and when he has time to throw he panics and throws dumb interceptions.
WR I don’t know if they are any good because 90% of our passes are behind the line of scrimmage.

Bring back Sumlin as OC

Can’t forget a RB corps that’s about as good at finding the hole as I was on prom night.

I have a good friend who is a huge Bama fan. We were talking about our games this morning. He asked me who our OC is. He nearly spit out his coffee when I told him who it was. His reply was “why in G0d’s name would y’all hire him? He’s awful!”

His defender fell down too leaving him all alone!

Nothing wrong with Bell. Not his fault our QB’s are Smith and Chriss. Look at the QB commits he was a part of recruiting, Carlisle and Henderson. With those guys in tow, Bell ain’t going anywhere. Half of us are even depending on Carlisle to pull our offense out of the gutter next year in his true freshman year. If there’s anything to read into regarding a staff change, I could see Bell being promoted to OC. If Barbay gets the Harrell treatment and is let go mid-season, then Bell will automatically become interim OC for the remainder of the year.

Just score 1 point. That’s all I ask. It’s possible to score 1 point, right?

OC and HC

Coaches are pushing this narrative, that our players are too dumb to read plays off their wrist. Shifting blame for bad coaching.

QB1 and QB2 are intelligent young men. So is every single player in that roster. What Barbay needs to dumb down is his own play sheet so he can read it better.

I don’t think they need to dumb anything down. They need to teach it and coach the guys to run it like every other competent coaching staff would do.

Quit getting in front of the camera and acting flummoxed that guys you’re supposed to be coaching are repeatedly making mental mistakes. It’s weak.

Just keep in mind that Barbay was a late hire. We originally hired Slade Nagle but then he backed out. Combined with the already late hire of CWF, there weren’t many options out there. For that reason alone, I would think that Barbay was a 1 year fill-in. He would have to really excel this year to keep the gig. The actual product on the field almost guarantees that he’s not going to be here next year.

Ask the Kansas HC how important a good OC hire is

And Slade Nagle had filled in OC only the last year CWF was at Tulane, and Tulane was not as good offensively as previous years. I’m as disappointed as anyone about this teams offensive performance. But HELLO … UH offense had sucked for 5 years before CWF arrived, and that was with a QB currently on an NFL roster, several transfers now playing at high level P4 teams, and a HC deemed to be an “offensive guru”. This is year 6 of watching bad OL play, receivers that can’t run correct routes and embarrassing displays of lack of discipline. This didn’t start last January.
You play the cards your dealt, and Fritz was dealt a perfect nillo hand when CDH and a bunch of transfers left. I say step back and look at the big picture, how is the team overall, 5 games into this staff’s first year? In game 5 the UH defense is head and shoulders better than Belk’s D was in year five. The offense sucks, and Fritz knows it, exactly what options does he have. The fair question is how much more does it suck than Dana’s offense. Barbay may be the problem, maybe not … It’s hard to comprehend dumbing this scheme down anymore than it already is.
I think we just need to step back and accept the reality that this is gonna be a $hit sandwich until the offense gets some things figured out … and that may not be this season.
