Fire Kevin Barbay

I don’t know how many times I’ve yelled for Smith to run because he seems to have room, then he’s steps back to pass or been sacked.

Smith is definitely very limited and shouldn’t be our #1 QB. The OC also has issues. He isn’t the QB coach so there is a disconnect that needs to be addressed.

If players are regressing, that’s a coaching problem. Either the morale or the playbook or something like that might be a big part of this.

We are averaging 6 points per game against teams not named Rice. If it weren’t for a garbage time TD against UNLv, we would have been shut out in half of our games so far. Fantastic stuff from this staff.

The rest of the team has to believe that he can be counted on when needed.

This is super important. Your D has to feel at sometime,e the leader of the O will pick the O up and get a few scores. Otherwise over the course of the season they will.get demoralized.

Also need a student walk on competition for Kicker. Missed kicks also are demoralizing.

Donovan is on pace to throw for 1600 yards and 6 TDs this season. He looked much more competent as a QB with Dana here.

And, no. I am not advocating for Dana to be back. He sucks.

But stop trying to take blame off of our bum of an OC.

Fireable offense?

Yes

If we fired him now, who would.be OC the remainder of the season?

Seriously…do we make a position coach the interim OC?

I just don’t see CWF as an Art Briles, (HC & OC) kind of coach.

He 100% isn’t an offensive coach. That is a fact. My guess is a position coach would take over play calling duties.

It is not coaching as much of a lack of overall talent. These days, you have to have a successful NIL program to hit on some difference-makers.

Townson scored 20 on Cincy, Miami Ohio scored 16 vs Cincy. Neither of those teams have better NILs or players than UH

Houston is a soft team. Soft under Applewhite, under Dana and under Fritz.

This offense is soft. Weak. Coaches and players.

Herman had tough teams.

Herman lost 48-14 to UConn the school some geniuses in this board don’t want in big 12. Herman got lucky in Houston. He was never a good coach. Longhorns realized it and fired him. Now, FAU in his second year sucks more then his first year b

I agree, fire him. Zero points by starters against the powerhouses unlv and cincy is unacceptable and it’s only been 4 games. You’re allowed one crapper. 2 in 4 games? We’re done here. Put a grad intern in charge of the O. It literally can’t get worse

Maybe since Case is on IR he can come coach offense here. You know his coogfans’ dream job.

The offense sucked last year and we lost our best WR’s and OL players I don’t know what you guys expected to happen this year.

I expected a new QB

I don’t think firing OC mid season makes sense.

Agree. Firing the OC now doesn’t do much. He’s got 2/3rds of a season left. If there is no progress the remainder of the year a change should definitely be considered though.

We have 63 new players. Many of them came in after Fritz was hired in a very short recruiting/transfer cycle. I’m excited about the 2025 recruiting class, but it will take a couple of years for those players to develop. You’re not going to win a lot of games starting a lot of freshmen.
