Football Pledge Per campaign returns for 2026!

Support Houston Football with every win, touchdown, sack or turnover forced

HOUSTON – Building off the success of the 2025 Houston Football Pledge Per campaign, Cougar Pride has announced the return of the program connecting fans with the game. In this fundraising initiative, supporters can commit to a season-long pledge in support of Cougar Football with contributions made per victory, per touchdown, per sack, and/or per turnover forced.

The 2025 Pledge Per campaign tallied contributions for 10 wins, 41 touchdowns, 28 sacks, and 22 turnovers forced. Those contributions were utilized for 2025 Texas Bowl championship rings, supplementing operational dollars for official visits from the transfer portal, and general operational needs.

The program allows supporters to select their contribution level starting at $5 per with additional options of $10, $25, $46, and $100. The $46 commitment level pays homage to the 46ers group, the inaugural football supporters for the University of Houston. This model allows supporters to scale their contributions with the Coogs’ success rather than pre-determined membership levels.

How it works:

  1. Visit this link and select your pledge for the 2026 season. Fans can select an individual category to pledge or stack multiple pledges for an amplified contribution to Cougar Pride.
  2. Make your gift for the first victory, touchdown, sack, and/or forced turnover (your card will be charged upon making the initial pledge at the selected amount)
  3. Cheer on Cougar Football each week while making an impact on all UH student-athletes

Supporters can opt to complete their pledge at the end of the football season in one gift or break up contributions throughout the season with the card on file:

  • First pledge payment: September 28 – Oregon State, Southern, Texas Tech, Georgia Southern
  • Second pledge payment: October 26 – UCF, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Utah
  • Third pledge payment: November 30 – Cincinnati, Colorado, West Virginia, Baylor
  • Fourth pledge payment: The week following the conclusion of the season

All funds from the initiative will be directed towards the AD Excellence Fund in direct support of the football program. All gifts towards the Pledge Per campaign are considered tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and are counted towards Cougar Pride Priority Points.

It’s back! You make the pledge, the Coogs will handle the rest.

You may remember we launched the 2025 effort right before the season last year. It was a great success that (as mentioned above) helped fund the team rings, contributed dollars to portal visits, etc.

With more runway to build between now and the 2026 season, I’m eager to watch this effort grow.

We’ve worked with our system provider on the monthly payments and any supporter who opts for that route (versus one payment at the end of the season) will have the dates.

Holler if you have any questions!

Mike & Dustin - Thank you both for jumping on board right out of the gate.

Yesterday was a great launch for the program. In one day, the number of pledges submitted is already 35% of what we did all of last season. Tons of excitement for the Coogs!

Hopefully you get over 100%.

Off topic, football is in the air

This is off topic, slightly, check out what Baylor is doing to monetize their gameday.

In the past I would have thought this kind of commercialization was in poor taste, but with over $20m going out to pay the players they have to sell everything, I would buy a Birthday Bash from UH, the website is a little broke, I don’t think they are finished loading.

In game sideline pass = $325.

What’s the max amount of people they can do this with… maybe 50 per quarter, so 100 between 2nd & 3rd quarters…

Then that brings in a whopping $32,500 per game…

You might get one decent player’s NIL from this…

I have to hand it to Baylor for being creative. This is outside-the-box thinking. I see more of this activity coming if it makes money.

BTW, Watching a game from the sidelines is the worst view of the game.

Worst view but one of the best “experiences”…

I love my front row seats… you get that “on field” energy when you’re right there… plus special guests always use the stairs right by our seats.

I think watching from the sidelines is a cool experience for kids.

One suggestion I would make is to invite the students on the field when the team comes out of the tunnel, along with the band, to form a line to the sideline. The students bring the energy. That alone may bring students out.

The way I see it they treat the Cougar Pride levels as their entitlement, literally the only difference in benefit between a All-American Club @ $1,250 and a Director Club @ $9,999 is a “Cougar Pride Gift” and the right to buy an RV spot. I and a lot of people have trouble justifying raising my donation, when at this point it’s a pro team, but I would buy some overpriced experiences.

A couple weeks back I was in San Diego and I toured Petco Park, and was shocked the number of times the guide said this is an area that was open to the public when the stadium opened but now is a suite your company can rent for a game, heck the entire $40 tour was the visiting locker room, dugout, press box and 10 different premium suite and seating options they could sell us, they even got in to catering options.

We just bumped this opportunity in the email inbox of season ticket holders, former Pledge Per participants, and more. If you’ve taken a look but haven’t yet signed up, let me know what questions I can answer to get you across the goal line! Go Coogs!

We did that in the Dome in 1965

Just renewed and increased my pledge from 2025! It’d be cool for future campaigns if we could track our progress live and see more categories we could pledge on. Stuff like 100yd rushing, 100 yd receiving, 300 yd passing. 3rd / 4th down conversions or FGs made. FG / Kickoff returns for TDs. Games with a Turnover margin advantage. Just a suggestion for future campaigns!

Thanks for diving back in, TK!

The Cougar Pride team has been working with our Creative squad to start producing week-by-week imagery alongside this program for Sunday/Monday posts. I’ll take this feedback to the team to discuss how we could provide some in-season updates for accounts.

Thank you for your support!
