This campaign is way overdue.
University of Houston Football is set to kick off the 2025 season at TDECU Stadium and Cougar Pride has introduced a new way for fans to get in the game. This year, fans will be able to commit to a season-long pledge in support of UH student-athletes with contributions made per victory, per touchdown, per sack, or per turnover forced.
The program will pay homage to the 46ers group, the inaugural football supporters for the University of Houston, with a giving level of $46 across each category. Fans can also select increments of $5, $10, $25, and $100 per victory, touchdown, sack, or forced turnover as part of the campaign.
As the world of college football continues to change, Cougar Pride is excited to give fans the opportunity to contribute in a way that matches the on-field success of Cougar Football. The Pledge Per initiative will become the primary giving vehicle for football fans and allow contributions to scale with success rather than pre-determined membership levels.
How it works:

Visit this link and select your pledge for the 2025 season to include total victories, total touchdowns scored, and total turnovers forced. Fans can select an individual category to pledge or stack multiple pledges for an amplified contribution to Cougar Pride.

Make your gift for the first victory, touchdown, and/or forced turnover (your card will be charged upon making the initial pledge at the selected amount)

Cheer on Cougar Football each week while making an impact on all UH student-athletes
All funds from the initiative will be directed towards the AD Excellence Fund in direct support of revenue sharing for the football program. All Cougar fans whose final contributions exceed $500 will be invited to an exclusive gathering celebrating the 2025 December Signing Day. Additionally, all fans who select a pledge of $46 for one or more category will be entered to win a VIP gameday package for the TCU matchup on November 22nd at TDECU Stadium.
All gifts to the Pledge Per campaign are considered tax-deductible contributions and will be counted towards Cougar Pride Priority Points.

I certainly would have liked to push it earlier but we’ll make the best of it. We’ve already got a few folks signed up and we’ll have a big communication push using tonight’s results to explain how fans can jump in moving forward.
The next wave of this campaign will be game-specific pledges. For example, running a single game campaign around Homecoming vs Arizona so folks aren’t on the hook for an entire season – but can make an impact on a big, campus weekend.

Yes - I brought this over from Southern Miss. So it took a bit to get the pieces in place with our service provider as this is a new giving channel for us at UH. But now we’ve got it teed up for future opportunities!
One thing you’ll hear from me (an annoyingly amount, perhaps): A big part of my job is to find ways for each person to give. Ryan may give for philanthropic reasons, Danny may give to get access to postseason tickets, and Jeff may give to show off his money. We’re grateful for all of the contributions – regardless of personal incentive.
This campaign is a great fit for those who have thought to themselves, “I’ll donate when they win.” With this campaign, you only make a gift when the Coogs succeed.

I wouldn’t say completely botched, but yes they should have announced it on Monday or something.
Welcome, Jeff. A few years ago I was making some little statement type donations and trying to push them on Twitter and here on Coogfans. That was a bit of a one man campaign.
I know I did a $12 donation when we got screwed by the Big 12 expansion once, and then I think I did it again when we finally got the invite. I did some others, like a $7 for 7 that was something Case Keenum related. I forget as it was a while ago, there may have been some others I did related to a score or point spread, I don’t remember. In other words, this pledge campaign is a great idea and similar to something I tried on my own or did on my own. I hope it is wildly successful.

I understand Ryan’s point and yours Jeff. At the end of the day “if you do not ask you do not get”
You have access to 100k’s of UH alumni. What a great way to contact them. This will give you another way of “gauging” how much true inter action we have with UH alumni in the greater Houston area and Nationwide. There are all kinds of contests that you can tie these donations with. Make it fun, make it as connecting to not only UH hard core fans but with every UH alum.
