Future Realignment Thread

He didn’t say that here.

Says it’s a doomsday scenario for the Big 12.

Even said P2/G8 scenario at one point.

As I said, listen and learn.

The ACC will lose its top brands.

But in the past, we assumed that would be good for the Big 12.

This podcast suggests otherwise.

SEC

  • UNC
  • UVA

Big 12

  • FSU
  • Clemson
  • Miami
  • Louisville

Big Ten

  • Notre Dame
  • ???

or

Big 12

  • FSU
  • Clemson
  • Miami
  • Louisville
  • Notre Dame (as an independent / scheduling partner)

I never assumed it would be good for the big 12 because IF they expanded, which I don;t think they are, that 20, 21, 22 member conference is no mans’ land.

They would go to that 2 x 24, with 2 12 school divisions in each P2 Conference meaning the Big 12 and ACC would be picked apart.

Adding #19 and #20, without Notre Dame is just stupid.

The B1G 10 is already too big.

Dividing itself into TWO 12 school Divisions (East and West) reinstates some logic to this madness.

Toll says that the B1G will add ND and “a Florida school” to go to 20.

SEC will add four ACC schools including UNC to go to 20.

No 2 x 24.

Big 12 may add some…but with a P2 monopoly on the biggest brands…it might relegate Big 12 to “G” status.

No…they’ll just raid the ACC and Big 12 for the final 14 creating the official separation…killing those conferences and and call it a day.

P2 and EVERYONE ELSE

Plenty of viable options (big flagship state schools with political clout and large endowments)

Houston’s ONLY change at being included is if A) The B1G wants a presence in Texas and B) we are the better option over Texas Tech and TCU and now, SMU who already has a playoff spot head start over us.

We better find creative ways to tap into Bucket #2…THAT could put us over the top but so could the schools in the Metroplex

Why?

Are there any remaining ACC brands, or Big 12 brands large enough to add value?

Probably NOT.

If there were, then they would have already added them.

You can rule out Houston in that scenario as well.

2 x 20 isn’t implausible.

yes…there are easily 14 .

By adding those you OFFICIALLY become a P2.

You’re in the military…to really win , you have no make sure the enemy is completely taken out…no embers left to burn into a raging fire.

Tweeners of Kansas, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Miami, etc. (large powerful leftovers) will create noise because they still have the resources to hurt the P2.

48 Plus/including Notre Dame gets you there

B1G has already said no to those brands.

Obviously they don’t add value.

No reason to think that that has changed.

As I said, I haven’t heard anyone other than you and some guy you posted express that 2 x 24 prophecy. You were already wrong about the "East/West’ B1G/PAC merger with each champion playing a title game before; this is just another variation on that same theme that you’ll also be wrong about. I realize you’d like to believe that you’ll be vindicated in the future, and no longer be wrong, but don’t get your hopes up.

Brett McMurphy has already said that no Big 12 team is going to either P2 as none would add value to either.

I agree…and he’s a guy that’s more reliable than just about anyone when it comes to realignment.

They already said NO to Oregon and Washington, and the Big 12 said NO to UH multiple times, yet changed their minds so you can stop using that as an argument

It holds 0% credibility and you sound ridiculous pointing out something that has been proven wrong over and over again.

Also, the B1G admitted they vetted multiple ACC schools clearly indicating their big picture approach is to expand into a 24 member type of conference.

Not going to happen anytime soon but IT IS the end game.

We are on the clock so we need to make great strides

Don’t put money on it Bro.

Even UW and UO don’t add enough value to get full shares.

Those smaller Big 12 and ACC brands won’t even add that much.

Might even dilute value.

Don’t bet on them adding anything.

Both of you are attempting to state opinions as fact

How long are you guys going to keep this up lol

UO and UW are getting full shares once the new media cycle is up for renegotiation

I’m not putting money on it…that’s why I keep saying the ACC will stay together.

It’s either expand to a 2 x 24 or don’t expand at all…the B1G is already bloated at 18…only a 2 x 12 will fix that

it’s a message board…that’s the concept behind message boars …encourage messages

The ACC may stay together in some form, but in a greatly devalued state; one that won’t be attractive to anyone but a G6.

The SEC and B1G will add the ACC’s most valuable brands, and possibly ND.

Won’t add any Big 12 team.

No 2 x 24.

Big 12 will likely stay together, and may add some ACC teams; but will be even further behind the P2 though well ahead of the ACC. At that point, the ACC will have little value left.

Law is obsessed with something that will never happen- the ACC losing members.

Of course he posted this hack’s video…it was music to his ears.

The ACC WILL lose members.

The only questions are a) when, b) how many, and c) to whom.

STAY TUNED!!!
